2 shot dead in Ilocos Sur

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur- Two were shot dead Wednesday night in fresh violence in this province perpetrated by suspected hired killers.
Police reports reaching the police provincial office in Bulag, Bantay town, said Wilson Gonzalo was ambushed by unidentified suspects along the road in Barangay Langlangca, Candon City.
Police said the victim had just attended a drinking session at said place when he was ambushed by unidentified suspects while he was on his way home.
The victim succumbed to bullet wounds on his head and other parts of his body.
Responding police recovered bullets for Carbine rifle and Cal. .45 pistol at the crime scene.
In another shooting incident, Leonardo Sanchez was also killed after unidentified suspects riding in tandem ambushed him along the national highway in Barangay Tapao, Sinait.
Sinait town’s police identified the dead victim as one Leonardo Sanchez, 56, a resident from Sampaloc, Manila.
His companion identified as one Engineer Mario Guzman, 50, a private contractor, a resident in Barangay Tapao, Sinait, Ilocos Sur was also shot and in serious condition.
A police report said the victims were having a conversation inside a waiting shed beside the national highway when suddenly the suspects riding in a motorcycle was arrived.
One of the suspects suddenly drew his handgun from his waist and shot the victims several times hitting different parts of their bodies.
The suspect immediately escaped from the crime scene after the incident.
Hired killers have been proliferating in the province for several years and the police appear helpless in going after them.
