Jail warden shot dead along Kalinga road

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Police are now tracking down two gunmen who shot dead a jail warden here Aug. 29 at about 4:15 a.m. along Hilltop Road, Purok 6, Bulanao.

Personnel of Kalinga Provincial Public Safety Company and Kalinga Police Provincial Office who went to the crime scene identified the victim the victim as Reynante D. Baday, 37 of Purok 6 who was with Cal. 45 and 9 mm pistols.

Police investigation bared the victim just came from his residence on board his tricycle and while traversing Hilltop Road, he was repeatedly shot by the suspects at close range who positioned themselves at the grassy portion of the road.

After this, gunmen escaped towards the Greenhill’s Employees Village.

The victim was immediately brought to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment, but later expired due to multiple gunshot wounds incurred.

The motive of the incident is still unknown. Police Special Investigation Task Group was immediately activated to investigate the case and arrest perpetrators.
