BAGUIO CITY -- Companies are expanding their operations in the Baguio City Export Processing Zone (BCEPZ) creating more jobs, increasing revenues and taxes.
BCEPZ manager for operations Mody L. Agyao Jr. said that the latest to venture was Convergys, a company engaged in relationship management, customer management solutions and billing solutions located at the Hillsford Properties along Camp John Hay.
The Ayala-owned Hillsford Properties houses call center companies, retail shops, fastfoods and condominium units.
It was conceptualized to serve Business Process Outsourcing ventures and host to operations of actual local and international hardware and software firms, he said.
For its environmental aspect, Agyao said, the project ensures the establishment and maintenance of a central park and many open green areas. It promises to create a walker-friendly environment.
A lot of foreign and local investors in the BCEPZ have already generated many jobs in this mountain resort city and in the neighboring provinces over the past several years , Agyao bared.
The BCEPZ has one of the best records in terms of collecting the fees due from its locators and is on time in the payment of taxes, Agyao added.
