1 dead, 4 hurt in bus accident

LAOAG CITY -- A person died while four others were injured when a bus collided onto a road wall here as it approached the Gilbert Bridge last week.

Police identified the victim as Rommel Benigno, a resident of Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte.

Injured were Pedro Domrique, the bus driver and resident of Barangay Navotas, Laoag City; Felipe Calsada of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte; Joan Pagdilao of Barangay San Mateo, Laoag City and Marissa Mateo, of Barangay 22, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte.

Investigation conducted by police said the accident occured when the driver lost control the vehicle while approaching the bridge with the vehicle colliding onto a concrete wall near the bridge.
