17 persons hurt in La Union road accident

SAN FERNADO CITY, La Union -- At least 17 people were hurt after an Isuzu Elf truck skidded along the highway in Barangay Madayegyeg here afternoon of April 26.

                Supt. Paul Romero, Philippine National Police Region 1 spokesperson, said the vehicle with plate number PDV 748, driven by Crispin Bao-in, was headed for San Gabriel, La Union when its left rear wheel blew out, causing it to skid along the road.

                The injured passengers, who were headed for a wedding feast in San Gabriel town, were brought to the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center for treatment.

                Romero said that Bao-in was released by the police after he executed an affidavit promising to pay for the medical expenses of the victims.
