NBI nabs 21 Chinese, Taiwanese for fraud

ANGELES CITY -- The National Bureau of Investigation arrested 21 Taiwanese and Chinese nationals allegedly involved in telephone fraud and extortion during a raid in Angeles City last week.

The NBI identified the Taiwanese suspects as Huang Li Sin, Huang Shih-Ting, TengYa-Huei, Chang Shu-Chu, Lai Chao-Ming, Wu Shu-Lun, Lin Jen Chien, Cheng Chih-Lung, You Jiafu, Huang Cheng Hui, Chan ChihHsien, Yang Yen Chun, Wang Pai Lu and Lin Shia Hao.

The other suspects were Xiang Hong, Hong Xia Juan, Zhang Dongmei, FengJianbin, Li Wu Xiu, LuoJiaXin, and Luo Shi You, all Chinese nationals.

Shih Liang Shia, alias Mr. Chen, the alleged leader of the syndicate, remains at large.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 were filed against the suspects.

All suspects were detained at the NBI headquarters in Manila.

The NBI said the suspects were also involved in swindling their compatriots.
