Lawyer supplies shabu to vendors who get nabbed

TRINIDAD, Benguet – Narcotics agents have put under surveillance a lawyer who
allegedly supplied shabu to two vegetable vendors they arrested for selling
shabu in an entrapment operation here in front of a store at Barangay Cruz
Sept. 9.
Ronald
Allan DG Ricardo, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
identified the vendors as Reynante M. Guimpayan alias “Ung-ga”, 24, of Buguias,
Benguet and resident of Cruz, and Rico S. Galao-ey, 33, of Mankayan, Benguet
and resident of Balili, Km. 3 in this town.
Both
vegetable vendors at the Vegetable Trading Post in La Trinidad, Benguet were
nabbed around 12:30 midnight.
Meanwhile,
Emely Cayandag Fama, regional PDEA information officer said the suspects said they were being supplied with
shabu by a lawyer from a law firm known for providing defense lawyers to drug
law violators.
The
suspects traded reportedly traded.02
grams of shabu for P500 to a narcotics agent.
Two
more sachets of the prohibited drug and P900 were reportedly confiscated from
the suspects.
The
confiscated three sachets of shabu were valued at P4,000.
Guimpayan
and Galao-ey were charged before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor here for
illegal drugs.
