Mayor releases P126,000 for family livelihood projects

BAGIO CITY-- An outlay released years back from the Priority Development Assistance Fund of then congressman and now city mayor Mauricio Domogan continues to support livelihood projects of indigent families here, 18 of whom received a total of P126,000 in non-interest loans recently.

Domogan, assisted by city social welfare and development officer Betty Fangasan, presented checks ranging from P3,000 to P20,000 to the heads of the beneficiary families whose projects will be monitored by the city’s social workers.

“These (amounts) are not intended to support the vices of your husbands or for cosmetics,” the mayor told the family heads, all women whose applications for fund support were granted based on their track records and viability of their livelihood projects.

               

Her consistency in paying back previous loans qualified MerlindaLatawan of Gibraltar Baran gay to a P20,000 loan to expand her family’s buy-and-sell of knitted and souven products.

               

Soledad Simsim  ofBilis, Sto. Tomas Central who is into vegetable gardening, and Ofelia Garlejo of Upper Quezon Hill who manages a sari-sari store, received P15,000 each, while  Juliet Ganongan of Gibraltar (peanut butter production) and Irene Copicopopf Middle Quirino Hill (weaving) each got P10,000.

               

To expand her buy-and-sell of frozen food, MeriamCiriaco of Balacbac availed of an P8,000 loan.

               

Given P5,000 each were AmlerahGampong  of Honeymoon Rd. (buy-and-sell of dry goods);RosaliaMapili  (cut flower production), Josie Piniliw Tomas (vegetable gardening), Ana Lang-ay (sayote production), all of Sto. Tomas; Rosemarie Calimlim of Dontogan( sale of food supplements), and  Eva Qujiambao of Lourdes Extension (fish and vegetable vending).

               

Loans of P3,000 each were released to Carolyn Sacyafen of Asin Rd. (crocheting), Moemi Lopez (manicure/pedicure), Eugenia Oribello (buy-and-sell of dried fish), and Marilyn Manuel (buy- and- sell of frozen food), all of Honeymoon-Holy Ghost); Sofia Villanueva of AzCKO Barangay (buy-and-sell of vegetables), and Elsie Marigsa of Honeymoon-Holy Ghost (buy-and-sell of dried fish).
