Winners in 2nd RD

CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – The Police Regional Office  Cordillera bared list of winners in the 2nd RD PRO-Cordillera shootfest the firing range here last August 30 to Sept. 1.
          
Firearm enthusiast from civilian and uniformed sectors in the different parts of the Cordillera and Ilocos regions joined the shootfest.

The competition was classified to Team, Lawman, Senior, Junior, Lady, LGU, Media and Range Officer Groups while the division was categorized into Production, Standard and Classic.

The RD (regional director) team which included Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, Senior Supt. Joseph C. Adnol, Supt. Peter Tagtag and SPO2 Francis Buyucan, won the PNP Team Relay.

For Lawman Category-Police Commissioned Officers winners were Senior Supt. Benjamin M. Lusad, champion; Chief Insp. Metts Pat-ing, 1st runner-up and Supt. Dante Lubos, 2nd runner-up.

For PNCO Category, champion was Roger Bilibli, Jessie Bustarde settled 1st runner-up while Norman Coronia was 2nd runner-up.

Champions on the other categories were: Jared Arciaga for Junior; Jeannette Campos for Lady; Don Malatag for Senior; David Bungallon for LGU; and Joseph Zambrano for Media Category.  For the Range Officers group, Angel Lumpias was the champion; SPO4 James Ruadap, 1st runner-up; and Charles Leano, 2nd runner-up.  The Production Category winner was Hagiyo Atioan, then Richard Barrozo for 1st runner-up; while Sure-win Gomez got the 2nd runner-up. For the Standard category, Wilbur Fernando was the Champion; Gerald Loy, 1st runner-up; and Marcial Campos, 2nd runner-up. The champion for the Classic Category was Melvin Calde while Joel Atioan landed 1st runner-up and SPO2 John Balcanao got the 2nd runner-up.

Winners for the Stage Category were Raymond Ambros, followed by Mr. Wilbur in Stage 1. For the 2nd Stage, Champion was Harry Awingan and the 1st  runner-up was Hagiyo. Stage 3 Champion was Laruan Lampuyas and 1st runner-up was Gerald Loy. Lastly, John Cadag led Stage 4 with Ryan Del Rosario coming next.

Magalong expressed his gratitude to sponsors and participants of the shootfest.

Proceeds of the fund raising activity will be divided among the victims of the CPP/NDF/NPA ambuscades against members of the Cordillera police in Mt. Province and Ifugao provinces.

Magalong said that this shooting competition aims to develop a high level of discipline as responsible gun owners, and to promote camaraderie between Police Officers and civilian firearm enthusiasts.
