Water, sanitation facilities set for 34 Mt Prov schools

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Thirty four schools in this province will soon benefit from water and sanitation facilities which the Public Highways will implement third quarter of the year.

Planning and Design Engineer Esther C. Taynec of the Mountain Province District Engineering Office bared this during preparation of programs of work of these water and sanitation facilities.

Funds amounting to P11,572,000.00 for the construction of these facilities came from the Department of Education under the  DepEd CY 2013 Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF).

The procurement unit of district engineering office said facilities will be completed before yearend.

Programs of works are complete while schedule of work are being prepared for submission to the DPWH-CAR regional office for publication.

Meanwhile, District Engineer Wilbur B Likigan urged school beneficiaries to assist in monitoring projects. 

Included in list of beneficiaries are Ankileng Elementary School, Sagada Central School, Sagada National High School, Aguid National High School and Antadao National High School, all in the province’s premier tourist destination.

Also included are Am-am and Tadian National High School-Subaba Annex, both in Tadian; Guina-ang National High School in Bontoc; Betwagan Elementary School, Sadanga Central School, and Betwagan National High School, all in Sadanga; and, Kadaclan National High School and Barlig Central School in Barlig.

Other beneficiaries are Paracelis such as Paracelis National High School, Agricultural School-Labay Annex, San Emilio Elementary School, Butigue National High School, Palitud National High School, San Rafael National High School, Buringal National High School and Bacarri Elementary School.

Beneficiaries in Bauko include Guinzadan National High School, Bansa National High School, Bansa Elementary School, Pactil Elementary School, Sinto Elementary School, Mt. Data National High School, Abatan National High School, Guinzadan National High School and Banao National High School.

Besao schools that will benefit from these facilities are Besao Central School, Agawa Elementary School and Panabungen SATHI while in Natonin is Apapawan Elementary School.

 These schools will start their CY 2014 with separate toilets for boys, girls and persons with disabilities; hand washing facilities; and septic vault.
