Baguio hastens Mines View Park rehab
BAGUIO CITY -- The city government here is hastening rehabilitation of Mines Park since the area was recently cleared of vendors, Mayor Mauricio Domogan said.

“We had an orderly and peaceful implementation of the massive clearing of stalls erected within the vicinity of Mines View Park including the sidewalk vending.”

He acknowledged barangay officials of Mines View for supporting and doing their responsibilities as well as the concerned vendors for complying with the order to occupy the multi-purpose building until Nov. 15 and voluntarily dismantling their respective stalls.

The clearing of the said area has long been overdue and that affected vendors were already given sufficient time to transfer.

Now that Mines View has been already cleared, the four million budget appropriated for its rehabilitation as a park will already be implemented.

The city will prioritize the fencing and at the same time make a master development plan so as to determine the total amount needed for its further improvement. -- JhoArranz
