MANAOAG, Pangasinan — Around l00
tourists from 20 countries are set to join religious pilgrims for a week of
spiritual renewal at the Pyramid of Asia, here, in the coming Holy Week,
world-renowned healer Rev. Alex Orbito said yesterday.
Orbito, president of the Philippine
Healers Circle, Inc., said the foreign pilgrims will come from Russia, the
Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Canada,
the United States, Germany, Sweden and Holland, among others.
They will attend a seminar and visit
the mountain for meditation, he said.
“Holy Week is the best time to
reform our materialistic ways by emulating Jesus Christ who lived simply with
the poor,” said Orbito.
The well-followed spiritual leader
warned that materialism will only take us away from the Lord and from our
families.
In the past several years, more and
more foreign tourists have been coming to the Philippines to seek spiritual
healing and the Pyramid of Asia resort has become a favorite destination for
them.
Located l5 minutes away from the Manaoag
Shrine, the Pyramid of Asia, which the Orbito family built in early ’90s, was
inspired by the healer’s visits to the ancient pyramids of Egypt.
He believes the pyramids have “rich
healing energy.”
Worthy to note is another healer in
Mangaldan, Pangasinan, by the name of Eddie Quinto.
Many patients, including those who
were terminal cases, professed that Quinto had healed them of their sicknesses
without the use of medicines.
The influx of visitors and patients
at his clinic usually doubles during the Holy Week, he said.
Observers said that since many of
the sick seek a miracle in visiting the Manaoag Shrine to pray, many of them
also tend to visit healers in this province.
Many of the patients who claim to
have been restored to normal experienced Quinto’s “gentle massage” that
combines the principles of chiropractic and reflexology.
Quinto, whose services are only by
appointment, said he is gifted with “an aligning touch that restores disaligned
nerves.”
