3 killed in La Union mishap

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur — Three people were killed in a vehicular accident involving a tricycle and a 10-wheeler truck in Barangay Ili Sur, San Juan, La Union Tuesday.

PO2 John Bayan, duty officer of San Juan town’s police station, identified the victims as Ronald Larana, Domingo Tangonan and Aries Tugade; all carpenters and from Bolinao, Pangasinan.

Investigation showed victims were on their way home on-board a tricycle when it collided into a 10-wheeler truck with plate number RBX 202 driven by Marlon Visconde.

Due to the strong impact of the accident, the three were seriously hurt in the different parts of their bodies.

The truck driver is now under police custody while follow- up investigation is ongoing. -- Freddie Lazaro
