Search for Miss Baguio 2014 on in barangays

BAGUIO CITY -- All is set for 2014 search for Miss Baguio with the participation of the summer capital’s 129 barangays.

 
The Search for Miss Baguio 2014 committee is chaired by City Administrator Carlos M. Canilao with Councilor Elmer Datuinas co-chair.

This year’s event organizer is Baguio Events Next Door Co. Ltd (BENDS) led by Benedick Bacani a veteran events and beauty pageant organizer.

Bacani is a graduate of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde with a degree of Professional Events Management.

He has also a Masters Degree in Information technology graduating  cum laude  and is currently an IT professor at the Saint Louis  University.

The city government has authorized  BENDS  to  organize, manage and produce  a pageant with greater relevance and more participation of the city’s barangays.

A total of 40 candidates  are expected to join this year’s pageant with two  Miss Baguio hopefuls  to represent  each of the 20 barangay districts.

Other members of the search committee: Michel Lawana, city councilor representing the Association of Barangay Captains, Jose Atanacio, Ohmi Cortez and city tourism officer Benedicto Alhambra
Initial screening of applicants will be done by respective barangay officials.

The yearly search for Miss Baguio is part of the month-long Baguio City Foundation anniversary on September.
