Japanese couple, pusher nabbed in La Union:104 arrested in San Fernando for drugs

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La
Union- A Japanese couple and an alleged top drug pusher were arrested last week
bringing to 104 number of drug personalities recently arrested in this coastal
city.
Supt Julius C Suriben,
chief of police, reported to Senior Supt Ramon Rafael, La Union police
director the arrest of three top drug personalities in the city who were
caught in separate sting operations here.
First to fall was
Joy Ishii, 33 of San Juan, La Union, married to a Japanese National.
Suriben said Ishii was
caught in possession of shabu and various drug paraphernalia after she was
reported by a resident for having a pot session at about 4:30 pm.
According to Insp.
Juanito Buaron, anti-illegal drug chief of city police , Ishii was just
discharged from a drug rehabilitation center.
Later, men under PDEA
1 director Adrian Alvarinio and Suriben arrested Eduardo Mamaril, 40 of Sta
Rita, Aringay, La Union who was caught selling shabu to an undercover
agent.
Seized from Mamaril
were shabu, cell phone and his starex van used in transporting shabu.
Suriben said was
Mamaril was one of sources of illegal drugs in the city they have been
monitoring and his arrest will cripple local transactions.
Police under Insp.
Buaron and PDEA1 also arrested in buy-bust operation at Oceana apartment in
Barangay Carlatan here Tomoaki Ishii, 60, Japanese national residing at Oceana
apartment.
Confiscated from his
possession were shabu and P1,000. He is the husband of Joy Ishii arrested
earlier.
He was brought to a
hospital in the city and now confined because of difficulty in breathing.
Suriben in his report
to Mayor Pablo C. Ortega said they have already arrested 104 drug personalities
in the city since January this year.
Last Nov 15, some 27
barangays were cleared and 26 were declared non affected by the City Anti Drug
Abuse Council.
Mayor Ortega commended
Suriben and his men for their outstanding performance in making the city a safe
place to live and do business.
"Napakagandang
performance ng ating kapulisan ngayon sa pamumuno ni Supt Suriben. Siya ang pinakamasipag
na naging hepeng lungsod. Ipagpatuloy niyo lang ang magagandang ginagawa nyo at
ang pamahalaang lungsod ay patuloy na susuporta sa inyo", Ortega said.
