TESDA Kalinga gets P5M for trainings

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Interested individuals
in the province can now develop their
skills or hone their competencies as skilled workers with the
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- Kalinga receiving
P5 million for its training programs
this year.

Jr., TESDA training center administrator, said P4 million is for the
Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) which targets to train
315 individuals.
The P1
million provided through Bottom-Up Budgeting
(BUB)is intended for trainings in the
municipality of Lubuagan with 149
students set to start training next month until December.
According to
Jose, trainees for STEP are given allowance and starter tool kits. Applicants
for training were advised to register at the congressional district office
here, he said.
In
Lubuagan, the local government unit
provided 5 percent counterpart to the fund. Trainors from TESDA will go to the
area to conduct the training,” Jose said.
For the
training for work scholarship program (TWSP), TESDA is inviting trainees to
enroll in all courses offered except driving. Enrolment in other regular
courses is also on-going.
TESDA is also
offering training for NC III on automotive and NC II on bread and
