Teacher wanted for rape nabbed

BANGUED, Abra – A teacher wanted for allegedly raping a student was arrested here Monday.

Ernesto Callena, 42, was collared by agents of the police’s criminal investigation and detection group in Barangay Palao.

The 14-year-old victim told police that Callena raped her thrice at the school canteen last year.

In August last year, police filed rape charges against the suspect, who went into hiding.

A local court issued a warrant for Callena’s arrest last May 19.
