LAOAG CITY , Ilocos Norte — Agents of the
Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested last Saturday nine Chinese nationals
illegally staying in the country at the Laoag International Airport.
Perry Michael Pancho,
BI-Ilocos Norte officer-in-charge (OIC), identified the Chinese as Chen Shiyang,
Pen Caimu, Chen Xia Liang, Catmiao Ling, Catshen Ying, Liao Jian Ling, Lu Xiao
Bing, Pan Cui Huan, and Shi Sen Sen.
The Chinese nationals
were supposedly returning to China via China Eastern Airlines flight MU2457 at
11:45 a.m. Nov. 28 from LIA to Guangzhou, China when they were stopped for not
having pertinent travel documents, said Pancho.
Pancho said that
despite having a questionable visa, improper documentation, and without entry
stamps on their passports, the nine had stayed in the country for six months.
The BI confirmed
Wednesday the nine illegal aliens have already been turned over to the BI Main
Office in Intramuros, Manila, for proper disposition. – Freddie G. Lazaro
