Benguet towns' winners in Mapeh fest bared

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet—The Dept. of Education Benguet division proclaimed winners in the recently concluded 1st Benguet MAPEH Festival at Benguet National High School-Main, here on Dec. 3-4.

Dubbed “Festival of talents and skills,” said event showcased the talents and skills of Benguet learners in music, arts, and dance as embodied in the MAPEH subject.

In the elementary level, Tuba municipality captured first place in the choral competition.

The towns Buguias and La Trinidad landed second and third places, respectively. While Itogon II stole the limelight in the ethnic chant contest after pocketing the first place, thereby leaving the second and third places to Itogon I and Bokod.

On the other hand, quality banana producer Sablan town won first place in the on-the-spot poster making contest, Itogon I placed second and Kapangan settled for third. In the ethnic dance contest, the capital town La Trinidad emerged first place followed by Itogon II and Tublay for earning second and third places, respectively.

With its creative and graceful choreography, Itogon II seized the first place in the Philippine folk dance contest, leaving to Kibungan the second place and to Tublay the third place.

In the secondary level, La Trinidad grabbed the first place in the musical ensemble contest, where Mankayan took home the second place as Tublay secured the third place. In the festival mask designing, Atok town took the center stage after reaping the first place and leaving the second and third places to Mankayan and La Trinidad, correspondingly.

Nonetheless, Buguias municipality harvested the first place after convincing the judges’ favorable nods in the likhawitan contest, then gave the second place to Itogon and third place to Kibungan. In the on-the-spot poster making contest, Mankayan ensnared the first place while Kapangan obtained the second place and Bokod settled for third place.

Meanwhile, the La Trinidad town led the other towns in the hip hop contest after swiping off the first place, thereby leaving the second and third places to Buguias and Itogon, respectively.
