Baguio lass tops sanitary engineer board examination

BAGUIO
CITY -- A civil engineer from Baguio City topped the recent Sanitary Engineer
Licensure Examinations.
Engr. Cherish Mennao Rillera of the
University of Baguio ranked Top 1 with a rating of 81.83 percent.
“I was surprised, overwhelmed, and happy. I
did not even know it was going to be released that day,” said Rillera when
asked what she felt when she got the news that she was the Top 1.
“When I learned that my batch mate, Jenny
Dawn Valdez, made it to the top in the licensure exams in August 2015, I
challenged myself to do the same for the January 2016 exams. I really wanted to
top the board ever since my Civil Engineering licensure exams in 2012,” said
Rillera.
Cherish is a consistent honor student. She
graduated as class valedictorian in Naguilian Elementary School and Naguilian
National High School - Special Science Class. She took her first degree,
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Saint Louis University, where she
graduated cum laude and took another degree, Bachelor of Science in
Environmental and Sanitary Engineering at the University of Baguio where she
graduated honorable mention.
Cherish is a the daughter of Provincial Board
Member of the 2nd District of La Union, Engr. Ruperto Rillera Jr. and Civil
Service Commission-Cordillera Assistant Regional Director Cornelia Rillera.
Rillera is working as a field engineer
at a construction firm and plans to put up her own firm.
The Professional Regulation Commission
announced that 32 out of 56 passed the Sanitary Engineer Licensure Examination
given by the Board of Sanitary Engineering in Manila in January. Successful
examinees had their their oath taking Feb. 25 at the Manila Hotel.
