‘Pamulinawen’ wins Panagbenga street dancing championship anew

BAGUIO
CITY -- For the second consecutive year, The Pamulinawen group of Laoag, Ilocos
Sur School of Fisheries, for the second time in a row was champion in the
streetdancing open category through a well-coordinated choreographed dance
number of fisherfolks’ life.
“Panagdamili” or
the art of pot-making was showcased by San Nicolas National High School,
Pangasinan which won second prize with P130,000; with real materials used in
the dance.
Umingan Central
National High School, Pangasinan won P110,000 as 3rd prize.
Participants
Tabuk Cultural Performers, Kalinga; Pinsao National High School; St. Theresita,
Balbalan, Kalinga; and Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) received
P30,000 each as consolation prizes.
For the drum and
lyre competition, Apolinario Mabini ES won the top plum with P150,000 cash
prize; Baguio Central Elementary School, went home second with P130,000 cash
prize; and, Josefa Carino Elementary School, won third place with P110,000 cash
prize;
Jose P. Laurel
ES is 4th with P80,000; ML Quezon ES with P60,000; Dona Aurora ES, Pinget ES,
Lucban ES all received P50,000 each; Emilio Aguinaldo, Dominican and Don
Mariano Marcos ES won P40,000 each.
For the small float
category, Selecta was champion with P150,000 cash prize, URC, second prize with
P120,000; and Seven-Eleven corporation, third with 100,000 cash prize.
The big float category
saw the North Luzon Express (NLEX) winning the first prize with P250,000 cash;
Sitel, 2nd, with P180,000 and Taloy Norte, Tuba, Benguet float with
P150,000.
Other winners
for the school-based landscape, dish garden for elementary, high school and
teacher categories were also given their prizes.
