Bank manager attacked
by client
BAGUIO CITY – A case for physical injuries
was filed against a customer of Metro Bank here alng Magsaysay Avenue for
attacking the bank manager.
A police report said
the incident happened May 10 around 3:30 p.m. inside the bank The victim was identified as Janine
Reillo Cuaresma, 26, manager of the Bank, and while the suspect was named as
MonalizaMonesCabigao, of Barangay Guisad here.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim and the suspect had a heated argument that
prompted the suspect to slap and scratch the victim’s face,
then strangled the victim’s neck while uttering unsavory words. The incident
was witnessed by victim’s office mates and client.
Vehicle
falls down Barlig ravine;
3 persons injured
BARLIG, Mountain Province – Thre persons were
injured when the amaraw FX they were riding fell down a ravine here Wednesday
around 9:30 p.m. along SitioFiawak,
Barangay Lunas.tPolice said the
vehicle was driven by AlgimMaingag, 24, of Barangay Kaleo.
Investigation
disclosed that the driver with two companions identified as Darsel Lomas-e, 22
and Eloisa Foyaga, 24, were traversing a narrow and sharp curve portion of the
road when the vehicle accidentally fell a 20- meter deep ravine. Victims were
brought to Barlig District Hospital and later transferred to Luis Hora Hospital
for medical treatment.
Young
man lands in jail
for rape
BANGUED, Abra – An
18-year-old man was arrested here Wednesday at Consiliman, Zone 2, by cops for
rape. Police named the suspect as Ryan Beljamin Bergonia, 18.
The arrest was made
afer Judge CorpuzAlzate, RTC, Bangued, issued warrant for his arrest with no
bail recommended.
Man
arrested for
illegal mining
MANKAYAN, Benguet – A certain Jerome Bocanog
Campos, 45, was arrested here at Barangay Tabio Wednesday for illegal mining.
The
arrest was made after Judge Jonathan Segundo, MTC, Mankayan, issued warrant
against the suspect for Benguet for violation of Republic Act 7942 (Philippine
Mining Act of 1996). Segundo set bail at P3,000 for emporary liberty of
Campos.
Carpenter
jailed for manhandling
wife
BAGUIO CITY – A carpenter is now in jail for
punching and strangling his wife and nearly slicing her neck with a bolo here
May 11 around 89:30 a.m. at their house in Purok 4, Gibraltar.
The victim identified as Esther
Wayas Moyamoy, 39, while her husband was named as Christer Makakteng Moyamoy, 45.
Investigation
disclosed heated argument ensued between the couple when the suspect repeatedly
punched his wife, took a bolo, strangled his wife, pressed a bolo to her neck
while uttering expletives. Their daughter saw the commotion between her parents
and immediately took the bolo from her father. Esther and her five children
immediately left the house and reported the said incident to police who
arrested the suspect.
Christer is now
detained at Baguio City Jail. Case was referred at the Prosecutors Office.
Drunk
man killed after falling
down ravine
KIANGAN, Ifugao – Police recieved a call here
Wednesday informing them a cadaver was found at Junction Duit. The body was
later identified as that of Rogelio DumanglegIndunan, 52, resident of Palo, Duit.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim had a drinking session Tuesday night until 5 a.m. the next day. At around
9:30 a.m. that day, an 8 year-old girl, while walking in the area, saw the
victim lying down. The victim allegedly fell down a 7-foot deep ravine.
Responding personnel brought the victim to Lagawe General Hospital where he was
declares dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Young
man shot while
riding trike
BANGUED, Abra -- A young man was
shot by still unidentified suspects here Wednesday at about 10:30 p.m. along
Santiago St. Police identified the victim as Allan Dave AbquirenSaugen, 20.
Investigation
disclosed that the victim and a certain Ray-lan Molina Puruganan, 20 were on
board a Rusi motorcycle, when two men riding a motorcycle suddenly overtook
them and shot the victim hitting his left shoulder. The suspects fled after the
incident while the victim was brought to Seares Memorial Hospital for
treatment.
Security
guard nabbed for hitting 3-year-old
daughter, woman
VILLAVICIOSA, Abra – A security guard was
arrested for hitting his 3-year-old daughter with a stone and later manhandled
a woman for trying to pacify him.
Police said the
incident happened May 11 at about 3:30 a.m. here in Barangay
LumabaVilliaviciosa. The victim was identified as Maria Majel Justo
Laggada, 25, single, of Barangay Lumaba while the suspect was named as
Emerson CabaocanMacabeo, 38, resident of Barangay Ap-Apaya.
Investigation
disclosed that the suspect, under the influence of liquor and threw a stone at
his daughter Queen Elisabeth Macabeo. Laggada tried to pacify the suspect but
the suspect punched her on different parts of her body. The victim ran to
their house and got a kitchen knife to defend herself and they struggled that
resulted to a slice wound at the eyebrow of the victim. The victim was rushed
by her relatives to Villaviciosa Medicare and Community Center for medical
treatment. The suspect was arrested by responding cops.
Man
hunted for trying to sneak in
shabu at Abra jail
BANGUED, Abra – Police are now looking for a
certain Jerome Javier of Zone 7, here after he reportedly tried to sneak in
shabu at the provincial jail here to be given to a detainee.
A police report said
on May 15, around 9 a.m. Julie Ann N Bello, OIC warden of Abra Provincial Jail,
turned over two sachets suspected shabu to local police station afer these were
delivered a day earlier by Javier.
Javier reportedly
arrived at the gate of Abra Provincial Jail to visit a certain Arnold Almazan,
detainee but was told visiting hours has ended. Javier, then left a white
plastic bag to jail guard Roland Caniada Sambo requesting him to deliver the same
to Arnold Almazan. Sambo, with other jail guards checked contents of the white
plastic bag and noticed that the Crest Toothpaste placed inside it was leaking.
When they checked it, hey saw the sachets containing shabu.
Man
denied bail for abuse of
children
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested a
security guard identified as Rolando Merlin Javier, 46 here May 15 in km 3
Barangay Balili for violation of Republic Act 7610 or special protection for
children against abuse.
This, after Manuel R
Aquino, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Baklaon
La Union issued warrant for his arrest with no bail recommended.
Motorcycle
driver, rider hurt in
collision with jeep
ATOK, Benguet – A jeep and a motorcycle
collided here May 15, around 4:30 p.m. along Halsema Highway at km 35 Topdac,
resulting to injuries of the driver and rider of the latter vehicle.
A police report said
the jeep registered to JunioKaslangenPasiteng of BulalacaoMankayanBenguet and
driven by Johnny LamsisPasiteng of Buguias collided with the motorcycle
with no plate number available owned and driven by Kirk Garambas, 22, of
Balangsayan, MadaymenKibungan. Garambas had a back rider identified as Gretchen
Kiloyen of Botiwtiw, km 3, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Investigation
disclosed that the motorcycle is traversing at the place of incident towards
Baguio City when the jeep coming from the opposite direction encroached the
opposite lane and bumped said motorcycle. As a result of the incident, the
motorcycle driver and his back rider sustained injuries and were both rushed to
Benguet General Hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the jeep was
arrested.
Old woman hospitalized
after van bumps
her
BAGUIO CITY – An
84-year-old woman in still in the hospital afer she was bumped by a commuter
van here at the Dangwa Terminal May 15 around 10 a.m.
The victim was
identified as Luisa BuenevistaCostales, of Mabusto, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya. She
was injured and brought to Benguet General Hospital and Medical Center by
driver JerwinPacsi Derik, 28, of Cotcot, Kabayan, Benguet. Investigation showed
the latter was driving a Toyota Hi-Ace Commuter van with plate number XCU-227
while backing leaving their staging area heading towards Magsaysay Ave. when he bumped Costales.Police confiscated
Deric’s driver’s licence and the van’s registration papers.
Truck bumps motorcycle;driver
leaves victims behind
LAGAWE, Ifugao – The driver of a dump truck
is now being hunted after he reportedly bumped a motorcycle and fled leaving
his victims sprawled on the road here about 4 p.m. of May 15.
Police said the
incident happened at Macmac-ac Road, Poblacion East, wherein the blue Elf dump
truck bearing plate no. RKY 2822 loaded with lumber driven by unidentified
driver sideswept a blue Honda XRM motorcycle driven by Arsenio Kimayong,
20, of Barangay Boliwong who had two back drivers named as Glenda Kidayan and
Wendel Pantaleon.
The driver of the
truck after the incident reportedly fled towards towardsBoliwong. Responding
cops rushed to Natuwolan Clinic where the victim lost consciousness due to
injuries. Kidayan reportedly rushed him to the hospital. The dump truck is still missing while the
motorcycle was heavily damaged.
Woman
hur as van rams Roadside,
lands on its side
BAUKO, Mountain Province – A van flipped andf
nearly fell down a cliff after it hit the roadside here around 6:20 p.m. on May
15 resulting to injuries to a passenger. A police report said the incident
happened along the Halsema Highway at Mt. Data.
Investigation
disclosed the Delica van was traversing towards Tapapan, Bauko, when the driver identified as PioTulaliSiti
noticed a stone on the road prompting him to evade it. All of a sudden, the
vehicle slipped due to heavy rain and the driver lost control of the steering
wheel, rammed the roadside and flipped landing on its side. One of the
passengers identified as Mila DalisanDalang, 54, of Guinzadan Central, Bauko,
was injured but she refused to have medical treatment.
Case
prepared against suspect for
threatening to kill old man
LAGAWE, Ifugao – Charges are being prepared
against a man who allegedly threatened his 67-year-old neighbor that he would
kill him and stabbed his galvanized iron door several times hwne he could no
get inside he later’s house.
A police report said
the incident happened May 15 around 6:33 p.m. at the residence of Modesto
B. Buyaco here at Inguiling Drive, Poblacion East wherein a certain Ricky
Dinamling, suspect and neighbor, who was allegedly under the influence of
liquor while shouting, stabbed several times the door of the house of the
complainant and inflicted 20 holes. Responding cops proceeded to the area
but the suspect was not around. Buyacotoldf police while he and his disabled
wife who suffered a stroke watching television, they heard the suspect shouting
near their residence and heard another voice from another neighbor who shouted
informing them that suspect while holding a double bladed instrument was
proceeding to their house prompting him to close and lock their door. Dinamling
reportedly threatened Buyaco that he would kill him. The suspect allegedly
tried to forcely open the door and when he failed, he stabbed the door several
times.
Fire
razes Banaue
church
LAGAWE, Ifugao – Fire engulfed a one-storey
evangelical church here around 7 p.m. of May 15 here at Barangay Gohang. Police
said the church made of wood and galvanized iron was consumed by the fire.
Firemen were able to put out the the fire an hour later. Damage was pegged at
half a million pesos. NO one was hurt in the incident.
Apayao
house burned
STA. MARCELA, Apayao-- – The house of a
certain JomarTuldog Rosario, 26 at Purok 4, Barangay San Antonio was totally
burned around 2:15 p.m. May 5. Police
Investigation found
the house was left unattended by the owner while working at nearby. The house
was made of Nipa walls, galvanized iron sheet and roof without electrical
connection. Accordingly, the fire started at the kitchen where an earthen pot
was left.Nobody was injured during the incident and estimated cost of damage
was P35,000.
Woman
with mental illness found
drowned on canal
TABUK CITY – A 50-year-old woman with mental
illness was found drowned at an irrigation canal here in Purok 6, Bulanao May
15 around 4:15 p.m.Police identified the victim as MayetLugaoAluyan, single,
resident of FF-Cruz, Purok-6, Bulanao. According to Dillapus Aluyan,
younger brother and immediate guardian of the victim, the victim was with them
around 11 p.m. of May 14 but early morning of May 15, as his wife looked for
victim so she will have breakfast, she was not around. Thinking that she just
woke up and went roaming, they looked for her. They were later informed of a
female person seen floating on the irrigation canal prompting them to go and
positively identify the victim. The cadaver was brought to Carbonel Funeral
shop. Police interviewed relatives who said there was no sign of doubt on the
cause of the victim’s death.
Grade 3
pupil drowns in Apayao

LUNA, Apayao—A 9-year-old Grade 3 pupil was
found drowned at a creek near the Lussok Cave at Barangay Dagupan around 6 p.m.
on May 15. The victim was identified as King Zyrell Culita Bumanglag, resident of
Purok Maligaya, Dagupan.
Police
investigation disciosed qround 10 a.m. of May 14, the victim and his father,
Allan Ternola Bumanglag went to Lussok Cave with some friends and had a picnic.
Allegedly, the victim and some kids were playing and went to the creek to swim
while his father was left at the cottage. According to George PacisParanal
while he was on the creek, his feet felt a body under the water prompting him
to seek help from Christopher Edu Sao. They brought the body of the victim to
the cottage where Bryan Franco Felife, a registered nurse tried to revive him.
The victim was rushed later to AMMA Jadsac District Hospital at nearby Pudtol
town but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
