Chinese-American charged for P16 million cocaine

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Charges were filed Tuesday against a 68-year-old
Chinese-American arrested here on Aug. 27 for possession of 2.3 kilos of
cocaine with an estimated value of P16 million.
Allan HooSoo of New York was charged before
the Angeles City prosecutor’s office by Fiel Navarro of the Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency.
Assistant
Prosecutor Marcelino Pineda said Soo was charged with violation of Republic Act
9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
No bail was recommended for Soo’s temporary
liberty. Soo
arrived here on Emirates’Dubai-Cebu-Clark Flight 338.
He was arrested at the Customs passenger
processing area after the cocaine was detected in his hand-carried bag.
Probers said the 2.3 kilos of cocaine were
hidden in a secret compartment in Soo’s bag.
Navarro said Soo would be transferred to the
custody of the Philippine National Police at Camp Olivas in San Fernando City,
Pampanga.
