Mandaluyong businessman loses gun, money to thief
BAGUIO CITY – A businessman lost a Cal. 40 pistol worth ₱37,000 and
P6,000 cash to a thief here Monday night at No. 97 Add Road, Purok 18, Irisan.
Police identified the victim as Enrico Abad David,
businessman of Mandaluyong City.
Investigation disclosed the victim and his familywere
billeted around 5 a.m. of April 9 and around 6 a.m. Monday, the victim noticed
the window of their room was opened and discovered that his bag containing the
said items was missing.
No fingerprint was found at crime scene nor was there a
CCTV installed in the area.
Teacher nabbed for grave threats, malicious mischief
LAMUT, Ifugao – A teacher was arrested here Monday around 6:45 a.m.
along national road at Barangay Nayon for grave threats and malicious mischief.
Nabbed was Jose Gano Daniels, 57, married after Modesto D. Bahul Jr., judge of
MCTC Lamut issued warrant against him. Bahul set bail of ₱12,000 each for grave
threats and ₱2,000 for malicious mischief.
Man wins P1.4K in cockfight; mauled
TUBA, Benguet – A man who won a bet of P1,400 here at the Tuba Spots
Complex in Badiwan, Poblacion in cock-fighting was not paid by the losing
bettor who mauled the victim instead April 9 around 11:45 p.m.
A police report identified the victim as Edralyn Bodillo
De Guzman, 39 of Tapao, Quirino Hill while the suspect is still
unidentified.
Investigation disclosed that both of the suspect and
victim were at the cock fighting arena. The victim signaled the suspect for a
bet amounting to P1, 400 which the suspect allegedly affirmed. After the cock
fight, the victim approached the suspect to collect his money, but the suspect
punched the victim making him lose consciousness so he fell on the floor.
He was rushed by his friends to the Baguio General
Hospital The victim told police didn’t know the suspect’s name but can
positively identify him because he had often met him during cock fights.
Dasmarinas lady nabbed for theft
BAGUIO CITY – A certain Genalyn Francisco Geronimo, 30, single, of
Dasmarinas, Cavite and resident of UP Irisan here was arrested Monday along
Abanao St. for theft. This, after Roel G. Samonte, presiding judge of Municipal
Trial Court Third Judicial Region, Subic, Zambales issued warrant against
her and set bail of ₱10,000 for her temporary liberty. Geronimo is now detained
at the city female jail.
Engineer driving Hi-Lux bumps Sablan resident
SABLAN, Benguet – A civil engineer driving a Toyota Hi-lux pickup truck
bumped a certain Junie Gomez Kindipan here April 9 around 9:30 p.m. resulting
to injuries on the latter.
Police said the incident happened along Quirino
Highway here in Lower Poblacion.
The truck with plate number XTX 914 registered to
Jhonny Langato was driven by Cesar Mateo Soriano, 52 of Shilan, La
Trinidad, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed that while the truck was
descending towards La Union, he bumped the victim at sharp curve.The victim, a resident here, suffered injuries on
his head and arm while the vehicle’s bumper was dented.
The victim was brought to the Baguio General Hospital and
Medical Center by Sablan police and local Bureau of Fire Protection medical
team. Soriano was taken under custody of
Sablan police.
Porter cornered for homicide
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A porter was arrested here Monday for homicide
around 3:30 p.m. at Trading Post, km 5, Barangay Pico by Kapanagan town and Trinidad
cops. Ariel Guitala Abriam, 29, of Pico was nabbed after arrest warrant
was issued against him by Marietta S. Brawner-Cualing, presiding judge of RTC
Branch 9, La Trinidad who set bail of ₱20,000 for his temporary liberty.
Farmer arrested in Luna for murder
LUNA, Apayao – Police of Tarlac and this town arrested a 36-year-old
farmer here Monday for murder at Barangay San Francisco, Luna, Apayao.
Arrested was Crisanto Navarro Pitero, of Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac. Jose S. Vallo, presiding
judge of RTC, Branch 68, 3rd Judicial Region, Camiling, Tarlac issued his
arrest warrant with no bail recommended.
Man cornered for estafa in Trinidad
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A certain Felicito Julva Calica, 48, was arrested
here Monday by lawmen at Barangay Pico for estafa. This, after Melita Amylesha
G. Delson- Macaraeg, acting presiding judge of Municipal Trial Court of La
Trinidad issued warrant for his arrest setting bail of P6,000 for his temporary
liberty.
Taxi driver arrested for violation of RA 6292
BAGUIO CITY – A taxi driver was arrested here Monday along Ferguson Road
for violation of Republic Act 6292. The suspect was identified as Jimmy
Mosquite, 59, married, of Quezon City, but at present residing here at No.
317 Mercury Street, Quezon Hill.
This, after Mia Joy C. Oallares-Cawed, judge of RTC, First Judicial
Region, Branch 4 of Baguio City issued warrant for his arrest setting bail of ₱40,000
for his temporary liberty.
Laborer surrenders in Camp Dangwa for theft
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A certain Dexter Santos Ramirez, 21,
laborer, of Batakil, Pozzorubio, Pangasinan surrendered to police here at
regional police office Monday for theft.
This, after Jennifer P. Humiding, presiding judge of RTC Branch 63, La
Trinidad, issued warrant against him. Ramirez paid ₱26,000, set by the judge for
his temporary liberty.
Van hits student
BAGUIO CITY – A certain Leonardo Orine Alafriz, 19, student was
accidentally hit by a Toyota Hi ace Van with license plate No. RRR-165, driven
by Charlie Robles Fanguingas, 46,
carpenter, of Bua, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet.
A police report said the incident happened Monday around 10:40
p.m. along Pinget Road while the vehicle descending from Upper Pinget when it accidentally
hit the victim who ran across the road.
The victim was injured and brought by the driver to Bageuio
Genral Hospital and Medical Center and released after treatment by attending
physician.
Responding traffic investigator confiscated the driver’s
license and OR/CR of the vehicle involved.
Student loses P73,000 gadgets to thief
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- A student lost P73,500 worth of gadgets here to
a thief who entered her unlocked door while she was in another room of her
classmate here at IC-164, Barangay Betag around 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday.
Police named the victim as Nida Pitan Ambas, 20, student, of Mankayan,
Benguet, a boarder of the house.
Carted away by the thief was Acer laptop worth ₱18,500,
Apple i-pod worth ₱47,000, AE365 Lenovo cell phone worth ₱7,000 and
Cherry mobile valued at ₱1,000.00.
PNP to deploy more cops in
populated areas
CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Cordillera police director Chief
Supt. Francisco Sarona said police would be deployed in strategic and populated
areas in the region this Holy Week and during summer to prevent terrorism and
crime, saying threat groups may take advantage of the season to perpetuate
crime.
“Police assistance and police presence in all places of
convergence, tourist destinations, terminals, churches, and main thoroughfares
will be safeguarded to discourage or prevent the plans and activities of
criminal elements,” Sarona said.
He urged the public to help police by providing relevant
information on crime and unscrupulous activities through social media or the

Man arrested for robbery with violence
BAGUIO CITY – One of the top most wanted persons in this city was
arrested here April 9 along Session Road robbery with violence and
intimidation. Arrested was Clint Arvin Ducusin Casipit, 21 of No. 14 Cresencia
Village.
This, after Maria Ligaya V. Itliong-Rivera, presiding judge
of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 5, Baguio issued arrest
warrant against him setting bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
Woman nabbed for estafa in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY – A certain Elizabeth Doniza Maraya, 40, businesswoman, was arrested here early last
week for estafa.
Emmanuel Cacho Rasing of RTC Branch 3, Baguio who ordered
her arrest set bail of P400, 000 for her temporary liberty.
