Registration for b’gay SK polls set April 29

Even with the proposal of President Rodrigo Duterte to postpone barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections scheduled Oct. 23, the Commission on Elections will push through with voters’ registration.

The Comelec announced qualified voters who have not registered yet have until April 29 to register in case the law governing the conduct of barangay elections is not amended.

Barangays can coordinate with the election officers for satellite or offsite registration.

For voters who want to transfer and those who have corrections with their names, the Comelec advised them to bring documents like certificate of residency or birth certificate.

The scheduled filing of certificate of candidacy will be on Sept. 23 to Sept. 30.
