Search for outstanding Baguio citizens launched

BAGUIO CITY -- The Society of outstanding Citizens of Baguio (SOCOB) launched opening of nominations for search for Outstanding Citizens of Baguio 2017 at the city public library during a media forum here last week.

The search is to inspire the citizens and tourists of Baguio to take note of   contributions and accomplishments of outstanding citizens, SOCOB chairperson Priscilla Macansantos said. "We would like to highlight their importance and significance of efforts in development of the city library."

According also to Dr. Elma Donaal, search committee chairperson, the search for outstanding citizens is part of the anniversary of the City of Baguio which is on Sept. 1.

Meanwhile Dr. Donaal stated criteria for the SOCOB 2017: nominee must have in Baguio for at least 10 years, must have good moral character and good reputation, must not have been convicted of crime and has credibility and respectability in the community.

Nominee should have initiated contribution to the community/environment that had impact on the city and beneficiaries.

Nomination form should have six photo copies, and minimum of supporting documents attached.

The original nomination form should be submitted to mayor's office care, care of Ryan Mangusan or Philippine Information Agency Office fronting The Mansion in Pacdal under regional director Helen Tibaldo.
