Truck falls Itogon ravine; driver killed, helper hurt

ITOGON, Benguet – A
truck loaded with cement fell down a 300-meter ravine here Thursday resulting
to the death of the driver and injury to his helper.
Polcie said
the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. along Sitio Tapak, Ampucao. The red
bulk truck, registered to Camilo Trucking with plate number RLU 260 driven by
Jessie Masda Pucay, 30 was headed to Baguio when the accident happened.
The helper
identified as Jenar Carias Etop, 30 was injured when he fell from the truck but
managed to climb and ask for help from the passing vehicle. He was brought to
Sto. Niño Hospital, Philex Mines, Tuba, Benguet for treatment and was later
transferred to Baguio General Hospital.
Rescuers
found the vehicle and the driver who was presumed dead who suffered severe head
injury.
According
to Etop, they were under the influence of liquor when the accident happened.
