Mt Province bets for top posts in 2019 polls bared

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Commission on Elections has released list of candidates vying for top positions in Mountain Province during May elections next year. 
The following are the list of provincial candidates who filed their certificates of candidacy for congressman: Avelino C. Amangyen, Independent; Maximo Jr. Y. Dalog, Nacionalista Party; Jupiter C. Dominguez, Independent; Jonathan B. Harder, People’s Reform Party; Albert G. Paday-os, Independent; Allen S. Ocden – Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and Anthony D. Wooden of PDP Laban.
Those who filed COCs for provincial governor were Mateo L. Chiyawan, LPP; Harry C. Dominguez; Bonifacio Jr. C. Lacwasan, PDP Laban; Eduardo Jr. T. Latawan, Independent; Magellan C. Limliman, PDDS and Antonio Jr. A. Grupo  of Aksyon Demokratiko.
For vice governor: Ezra Samson A. Gomez of LDP; Raul L. Lapon, Independent and Francis O. Tauli of PDP Laban.
For member of Sangguniang Panlalawigan District I are: Stephen V. Afuyog; Alfredo Jr. T. Assud, Nacionalista Party; Janice L. Barillo, Independent; Luke Jr. W. Chanasen, Independent; Alexandre C. Claver, Independent; Jose O. Dominguez – Independent; Gladys L. Ekid, Independent; Angelo L. Fongafong, Independent; Joshua Fronda, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas; Constancio A. Miranda, PFP: Grayson M. Naogsan, Independent; Federico E. Onsat, Independent Florence N. Taguiba, NP and Carino S. Tamang.
For board member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan District II are: Randolf T. Awisan, PDP Laban; Henry Jr. D. Bastian, Salvador K. Dalang and Donato L. Danglose, all of PDP Laban.
Others for District 2 are Juan P. Malinias. Independent; Basilio P. Mamateo, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas; Melchor O. Patal-e, Independent and Romeo M. Pagedped of PDP Laban.
Incumbent Paracelis mayor Avelino Amangyen was the first to file his COC for congressman for the lone provincial congressional district. Second was former Sabangan mayor Jupiter Dominguez.
Alberto Paday-os from Bauko, a farmer who submitted his COC for congressman had been an aspirant for high provincial elective posts in past elections.
He was a candidate for governor in 2010 and a vice governor aspirant in 2016.
Former Tadian mayor Harry Dominguez is returning to the political arena after missing to file his intent in
2016 which political observers said could have catapulted him to the highest elective position in the province.
Incumbent governor Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr. is seeking the governorship after assuming the provincial executive position in 2016 by way of succession when Gov. Leonard Mayaen died.
Lacwasan is a former barangay chairman of Utocan Sur but served as a member of the Sangguniang for nine years by virtue of his being the provincial chairman of the Association of Barangay Councils.
He was vice governor for six years before he became governor.
Natonin mayor Mateo Chiyawan is the third candidate for governor. Chiyawan was a six year board member then elected as vice governor for a term. He is serving his last third and last term as mayor of the eastern town.
Mayoral candidate for Besao is lone and unopposed incumbent mayor Johnson Bantog. In Sagada are mayoral candidates incumbent mayor James Pooten Jr and new political aspirants  Israel Dontogan  and Fely Capuyan-Omengan, daughter of former mayor Sagada mayor Bernard Capuyan.
Tadian aspirants are former mayor Constito Masweng,,Rene del Amour and  Ruben Bayogan,.
Running for mayor in Bauko are incumbent mayor Abe Akilit and aspirant  Mario  Gaoken.  Sabangan mayoral aspirants are Joey Dominguez, Rudy Mencion and Junjun Lawilao. Mayoral candidates for the capital town of Bontoc are incumbent mayor Franklin Odsey  and  Sigfried  Fatongkeg.
In Sadanga are incumbent mayor Jose Limmayog Jr, former mayor  Gavino Ganggangan, Geraldo Ackut.  Barlig mayoral aspirants  are Marlyn Agpawan, incumbent  mayor  Genesis Changilan, Rudy Longid and Clark Ngaya.
 In Natonin are mayoral candidates Bernard Foryasen, Jose Agagon, Patrick Bagingan, Rafael Lipaten  and Fernandez Lingayo while neighboring Paracelis candidates for mayor are Marcos Ayangwa and Benjamin Manat.
