Laborer rapes stepdaughter
LUNA, Apayao – A case
for multiple rape was prepared against a laborer here last week for allegedly
raping his stepdaughter, a minor.
The
14-year-old victim told police Monday the illegal acts were done by her
stepfather identified as Mario Valdez Ulita, 42, married from April 9 to July
30 at their home in Purok Mabuhay, Barangay Dagupan.
Investigation
disclosed that at around 1 p.m. of April 9, while the victim was inside her
room after taking a bath, the suspect suddenly entered her room and forcibly
removed her clothes. The victim resisted but still the suspect held her,
threatened to kill her and raped her. After which, he carried her to her room
and raped her again.
The victim
never revealed the incident to her mother because she was afraid that her
stepfather might kill them. But when she visited her grandmother on Oct. 1 at
Barangay Lucban, Abulug, Cagayan, the victim revealed the incidents.
She was
brought to Far North Luzon General Hospital for physical and medical
examination and subsequently referred to the MSWD Office.
Operator pinned by payloader dies
EHEB, Ifugao -- A
payloader fell into a ravine resulted in the death of its operator here in
Barangay Eheb early last week.
Police said
Jeffrey Bayawa, 47, was clearing the debris left by Typhoon Ompong on the slope
of the mountain when the ground collapsed, causing the equipment to roll down
the ravine.
Rescuers had
a hard time retrieving Bayawa’s body as he was pinned under the payloader.
Laborer, 63, molests daughter in law
HUNGDUAN, Ifugao – A
63-year-old laborer is now the object of a manhunt by police after his daughter
in law told police he tried to molest her at their home here in Barangay
Bangbang.
Complainant
Kate Pulao Dupingay, 23, with her husband reported to police that Ruben
Calingayan Dupingay, whowas living with the couple committed acts of
lasciviousness against Ms Dupingay.
Ms Dupongay
told police that at around 8:30 p.m. of Sept, while they were sleeping together
with her three children, suspect entered their room and touched her feet up to
her belly.
The victim
thought that it was her husband so she took a flashlight and pointed at him and
saw that it was her father-in law who was touching her.
She
immediately kicked him and went out of their room. Victim due to fear, left her
children and went down to the church were her Pentecost church mates were
having fellowship and told them what had happened to her.
After a
while, her father- in law followed her and shouting for her to come out from
the church but they pacified him and the
suspect shouted at her saying to quote “an ilukluktapam lakay mu” in
ifugao dialect (meaning, the suspect was accusing the victim that she was
having an affair with someone).
The victim
revealed that prior to the incident; sometime in April, while she was fixing
their clothes at their room, her father-in-law entered but it so happened that
her husband called her name so the suspect went to their porch. The suspect is
at large. Case is being prepared for referral against the suspect at the
prosecutor’s office
Store
helper nabbed in buy-bust operation
BAGUIO CITY – An alleged
drug pusher identified as Darling Dumo “Darlin” Parayno, 35, store meat
helper and presently residing at San Carlos Heights here was arrested at
Peak Blossom, Marcos Highway, Bakakeng Central Monday in a buy-bust operation.
Personnel of
Station 10 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera seized from him
two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu; cash amounting to P1,000 and
P2,000 boodle money.
Gov’t
worker files complaint against OFW hubby for abuse
SABLAN, Benguet – A
government female employee filed a complaint with police here Tuesday saying
her husband maltreated her, didn’t give support to their children and is now
allegedly living with his mistress now in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Police said
complainant Beverly Calado Madayag, 47, here of Poblacion, Sablan, Benguet went
to police station and filed complaint
against her husband Loreto Lenneng Madayag, 47, overseas foreign worker (OFW), native and resident Lower Palali,
Poblacion, Sablan.
Victim said
her husband always came home late or didn’t go home for days. She claimed on
August 30, her husband hit her with a mono block chair on her arm shouting
unsavory words at her in front of their children. She said her husband was not
giving support for their children’s studies.
A case
of violation of Republic Act 9262 (violence against women and children) is
being readied for filing to the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor against the
husband.
Man
on motorbike dies in mishap
MALASIQUE, Pangasinan --
Hans Christian Mediana, 32, was on a motorcycle when it slammed into a rock
here in Barangay Lokeb Tuesday making him die at the scene from head injuries.
The victim
was with his brother Paul Brian, who was on a separate motorcycle when he
figured in the accident.
Motorcycle rams railings; driver dies
BANNA, Ilocos Norte –
Sixty three-year-old Saturnino Alviar died here early last week after his
motorcycle hit road steel railings. Alviar’s companion Leoncio Abado, 48, was
taken to a hospital for treatment.
Lady nabbed in drug operation
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A
certain Annie Rose Binos Tugatog of La Trinidad, Benguet was nabbed here at
Bekes, Buyacaoan Monday in a drug operation.
Police and
narcotics agents confiscated from the suspect P1, 000 buy-bust money, three plastic
sachets containing suspected shabu; drug paraphernalia and Samsung cellphone.
Shabu lands woman in Mankayan jail
MANKAYAN, Benguet – One
Goldalyn Baguista Guanso was apprehended here Monday at Ambabag, Guinaoang
for illegal drug possession. Confiscated from her were two sachets containing
suspected shabu, P1,000 buy bust money and a
Nokia cellphone.
Trike driver hurt in Ifugao crash
LAGAWE, Ifugao – A
tricycle driver was injured when he tried to overtake a jeep making the latter
fall down on the road. A police report said the accident happened around 6:45
p.m. on Tuesday along the national highway at Banao, Poblacion South in front
of Eastern Gasoline Station.
Involved
vehicles included a Honda TMX 155 driven by Allen Dulnuan Bumidang, 29 and
a public utility jeepney bearing plate number AYC-957 driven by Dick Irvin
Pahicnion Langbayan, 34, of Nagakadan, Kiangan town.
Investigation
disclosed both vehicles were traversing from Ibulao heading towards Lagawe Town
Proper when the bus was about to turn left towards Don Bosco High School at the
Eastern Gasoline Intersection.
The speeding
tricycle tried to overtake the jeep but its sidecar wheel side swept the
driver’s side front wheel of the jeep and also hit its front door.
As a result,
the tricycle fell down down while the driver who was observed to be under the
influence of liquor was left lying with the tricycle on top of him. The
tricycle driver of was injured as result. The tricycle was taken under the
custody by police while the jeep was allowed to ferry its passengers.
Bizwoman nabbed for estafa in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY – A
businesswoman was arrested here Tuesday for borrowing money from another entrepreneur
without paying the money and using a spurious document as collateral.
A police said
Mila Bakidan Baldos, 34, of Purok 4, 161 Lower Pinget here filed the
complaint against Saturnina Diwas Hilario, 41, married, resident here of
Dangwa Tranco Building, Rajah Matanda, Kagitingan.
Investigation
disclosed the suspect transacted with complainant on Sept. 17 to borrow money
amounting to P130,000 using Transfer Certificate of Title as collateral -- a
lot of 800 square meters. Said agreement was made a copy of mortgage subscribed
by lawyer Esteban A. Sumngi.
On the same
day, complainant proceeded to the Registry of Deeds, La Trinidad, Benguet
and verified the titled lot under Certificate Title Number 016-2017002012 and
found out that title of said lot was not genuine with discrepancies on its
details.
The
complainant then set a transaction against the suspect informing asking her to
pay her balance amounting to P 50,000. The suspect agreed to meet and upon
payment of P20,000 police nabbed Hilario at the Total Convenient Store/gasoline
station at Camp 7.
Picture of crashed truck sets rescue
KIANGAN,
Ifugao – A picture of a vehicular accident from a Facebook account was seen
Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. by local cop PO1 Denden B Pinkihan uploaded by Rexella
Tuguinay, sangguniang kabataan chairman and resident of Barangay Hucab.
Pinkihan
asked her the place of accident and she answered that it happened at SO Alimit
Hucab of the town. With other cops, Pinkihan responded and found out Toyota Elf
mini dump truck with plate no. BCL 969 owned and driven by Carins Daulayan
Domelod, 35 of Neduntog, Antipolo, Asipulo, Ifugao lying on its side.
Investigation
disclosed that the incident happened at around 1:20 p.m. that day wherein said
vehicle loaded with crates of tomatoes was traversing the road from Asipulo to
Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Trading Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Upon reaching
the curve and ascending road, the driver shifted gear from 2nd to 1st but it
malfunctioned and the vehicle started moving backward and the driver could not
control it anymore. Upon seeing that no vehicle was tailing him, he let the
rear n of the vehicle bump a sloped portion of the road. Due to the
impact, the vehicle fell on its side. The driver was unhurt while the vehicle
incurred damaged on its left side portion and some other parts and some of the
cargo were thrown along the road. Cops helped fix the cargo and lifted the
vehicle in its normal position.
Jobless woman nabbed for estafa
TABU7K CITY, Kalinga – A
certain Jenny-Lee Bumadang Lawani, 21, single, jobless, native of Kabugao,
Apayao, and resident here of Agbannawag was arrested here at Dagupan for
estafa.
This, after
judge Victor A. Dalanao of MTCC, 2nd Judicial Region, Tabuk City, Kalinga
issued warrant against her and setting bail of P24,000 for her temporary
liberty.
