Baguio call center worker rapes boy
BAGUIO
CITY – A customer service representative of a top call center here was arrested
after he allegedly raped 13-year-old boy here Tuesday around 2:30 to 4 p.m. at
no. 24 Dr. Cariño, Lower QM at the residence of the suspect who was identified
by police as Darwin Valeroso Pasana, 22.
Investigation disclosed
the victim was inside a computer shop when the suspect sat beside him and was
trying to catch his attention by touching his foot using his left foot but the
complainant tried to ignore him.
The former then talked
to the victim invited him to his boarding house. While inside the room of the
suspect, he laid down the complainant on his bed and abused him. After the
incident, complainant went home and reported the incident to his mother
who immediately went at the place of incident and brought the suspect to the
barangay hall and to the police.

PILAR, Ilocos Sur -- A mountaineer died when he fell from a 50-meter slope here
on Mt. Tirad in Del Pilar on Nov. 25.

3 persons hurt in LaTrinidad
collision
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Three persons were injured when two
vehicles collided along along Lamtang Road here around 10:50 a.m. on Nov. 25.
The victims were
identified as Ignacio Pingaoan David, 63, barangay kagawad of Irisan, Baguio
City; Bryan Tayer Dela Cruz, 22, beautician of Pantay Quitiquit, Caoayan,
Ilocos Sur and Maria Terresa Tubon, 30, of Magsingay Napu Ilocos Sur.
Investigation showed a
Ford Everest with plate number CI E414 coming from Baguio City driven by David
collided with a Mitsubishi pick-up truck driven by Albert Hubert Qua Sy of
Quezon City.
Investigation showed the L200 pick-up while negotiating a
sharp curve entered the opposite lane and bumped the left side front fender of
the Ford Everest. As a result David and two of its passengers were
injured and brought to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center by emergency
service workers. The driver of the L200 was taken under custody by La
Trinidad police.
Man found floating along Abra river
TINEG, Abra -- The body of a man was seen floating along
the Binongan River here in Magappa, Alaoa around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 by a
certain Tolentino Calubing Blanco and barangay kagawad Haidie Limag Baldo. Due
to the remoteness of the location where the cadaver was found and for the
safety of personnel, an operation to retrieve it was planned for the next day.
Tineg is a known lair of New People’s Army guerillas.

Insp.Benedict Sigbu Calado and Tolentino Blanco and four civilian volunteers
found the body later that day.
Investigation showed
the victim was reported missing on Oct. 30 around 7 a.m. after he was swept
along the river during the onslaught of super typhoon “Rosita.”
The brother of the
victim Onofre Vicencio Villaruz, 51, farmer Poblacion, Tayum, Abra positively
identified the cadaver as that of his elder brother Venancio Vicencio
Villaruz 58, married, carpenter, and a resident of Poblacion, Lacub.
The body was transported in a vehicle provided by the mayor
of Lacub.
Man nabbed in Burgos for violation of RA 9262
BURGOS,
La Union – A certain Loreto Lenneng Madayag, 47, was nabbed by police here
Tuesday at Barangay Bilis for violation of Republic Act 9261. This, after
Marietta S. Brawner-Cualing, presiding judge of RTC, First Judicial Region,
Branch 9, La Trinidad, Benguet issued warrants against him for two counts. Bail
was set at P80,000 and P120,000 for another case.
Laborer found dead in Banaue
BANAUE, Ifugao – A laborer was found dead here Monday in
his room around 5:20 p.m. A police report said Lucia Hummiwat Pekelman, 53, and
Wilbert Timmango Kimmayong, 21, reported to police that the former’s elder
brother Felix Dayawon Himmiwat, 58, a person with disability was found dead.
Deputy chief of police Insp. Norman B. Aamdos coordinated
with Rural Health Unit workers and the body of Felix was lying on his back just
below his bed. Attending physician Lorna Baga pronounced the victim dead
saying he died due to asphyxia. No sign of strangulation and injury on the body
of the deceased was noted

Caoili-Suclad was arrested here Tuesday for estafa on order of judge Leody M.
Opolinto of MTCC Branch. 3, Baguio City. Bail was set at P20,000 for her
temporary liberty.

TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested a certain Agnes Tacio Loogan here at Buhao,
Puguis Tuesday after warrant was issued against her by Melita Amylesha D.
Macaraeg, acting presiding judge of Municipal Trial Court of La Trinidad,
Benguet for estafa and bouncing checks. The judge set bail of P40,000 for her
temporary liberty.
Man lands in jail for frustrated
homicide

Benguet – A man was nabbed here Tuesday at
Camarin,
Camp 4 for attempted homicide. Arrested was Lopez P. Lang-ay after warrant was
issued against him by Isidra A Argañosa-Maniego acting presiding Judge of fifth
MCTC, Pampanga. The judge set bail of P12, 000 for his temporary liberty. Two
warrants of arrest were also issued against the accused by judge Lucina
Alpez-Dayaon of RTC Branch 54 Macabebe Pampanga for two counts of frustrated
homicide with a bail of P 24,000 for each case.

lost in flames
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 2-storey house made of wood and GI
sheets was razed to the ground here Monday at Jappa, Shilan.
The owner of the house
was named as Ruben Zarate Camilo, 59, farmer.
Investigation revealed around 7 a.m. that day, Camilo went
to his farm while his wife Febrina went to the provincial capitol.
Their son Ronnel went
out of their house around 7:45 a.m. to attend his class in Tublay leaving his
younger brother Ram, 10 and a special child inside their sala at the second
floor watching television. At about 8:20 a.m., Jeffrey Camilo Maslag, barangay
chairman of Shilan noticed smoke coming from the second floor of the house. He
immediately proceed to the house where he saw Ram playing outside holding a
match while the house was burning.
The Bureau of Fire
Protection declared the fire out around 9:20 a.m. Estimated cost of damage was
P700,000 while P 215,000 cash kept in the closet of the owner for the education
of their children was also burned.
Taxi driver punches DOTr worker
BAGUIO CITY – A DOTr employee was punched by a taxi driver
he accosted here Monday. A police report said the incident happened around 8:44
a.m. along Post Office Loop, Salud Mitra Barangay on complaint of Rojones
Fernandez Soronio, 29, of DOTr regional office.
The suspect was
identified as Alexpander Dangsian Zarzua, of No. 076 Purok 25, Barangay San
Carlos Heights.
Investigation revealed
the victim together with other DOTr employees while conducting random check of
vehicles along Post Office Loop, Salud Mitra when he spotted a Toyota wagon
taxi bearing license plate number AYT 612 and trade name GTRUDES PZA with his
passenger not wearing a seatbelt.
He flagged down said
motor vehicle and asked for documents and discovered that said motor vehicle
was not registered. While the victim was explaining the suspect’s violations,
the latter arrogantly contested his violation and suddenly punched the face of
the victim.
Said incident was pacified
by DOTr employees.

Two arrested for estafa
in Kiangan
KIANGAN,
Ifugao – Cops nabbed here Tuesday Mario Motwa Bangiwahon, 42 and Liza Estima
Bangiwahon, 43, both residents of sitio Hoba, Bolog for estafa. This, after judge Francisco O. Pilpil of MCTC
second judicial region, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya issued warrant against them
setting bail of P20,000 each for their temporary liberty.
3 nabbed for resistance, disobedience to cops
BAGUIO
CITY – Three persons were arrested here Tuesday for resistance and disobedience
to cops. Nabbed were Kevin Garcia, Jomil Dela Cruz and Rhayghun
Baddongen.
Investigation disclosed
the suspects were chanced upon by patrolling police personnel littering bottles
and tires along the road. When
confronted, they became unruly and shouted unsavory words at the cops.

3 thieves cornered
at market after heist
BAGUIO CITY – Three thieves was arrested here Monday after
they stole items here inside Pacific Market Place along Lower Session Road.
Complainant in behalf of the management was Rey Nisperos Ringor, 27 and employed
as CCTV watcher.
Suspects were
identified as Jose Abad Mendoza, 27; Thelma Burgos Calisagan, 50
and May Talisik Gonzalo, 55, all of Malabon City.
Investigation showed
suspects went inside the establishment posing as customers.
While inside, Calisagan talked with the saleslady
distracting her attention while took items and hid them inside her garments
with Mendoza as watcher. The
complainant, seeing the scene on CCTV went to intercept the suspects but they
ran away leaving the items such a can of Nestle NAN Milk worth P890.90 and one
plastic bottle of Nivea Body Lotion worth P280.90 at the promo area near the
exit.
Complainant and
companions tracked down the suspects and located them at he city public market.
Complainant sought police assistance from Precinct 71. PO2 Mark Matbagan and
PO2 Alvin Julian responded and arrested the suspects.
Baguio online seller nabbed for adultery
BAGUIO CITY – A female online seller was arrested here
Monday for adultery. Nabbed at No. 527 Bayoya Street, San Vicente was Melanie Generosa
Takinan, 40, Leody M. Opolinto, presiding judge of Municipal Trial Court in
Cities, First Judicial Region, Branch 3, Baguio City issued warrant against her
setting bail of P 24,000 for her temporary liberty.
Frustrated murder lands man in jail
CONNER, Apayao – A man was arrested here Tuesday at
Barangay Manag for frustrated murder. The suspect was
identified as Jonnie Pegoc. This, after judge Edmar Castillo issued warrant
against him setting bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
Cops find abandoned lumber
in Sagada
SAGADA, Mountain Province – Police found abandonded pine
lumber here Nov. 25 at Sitio, Dayaket, Barangay Payag-ew while conducting
patrol. The owner was not found.
On same day, police
were assisting tourists coming from Marlboro Country and Blue Soil when they spotted
pine lumber scattered at Dayaket The recovered 24 pieces was valued at P3600
and brought to Sagada police station.
