3128 drug pushers, 18 users nabbed in Baguio

BAGUIO
CITY – Police of this summer capital arrested 318 drug pushers and 74
users from July 1, 2016 to date.
A total of 372 pushers
and 2116 illegal drug users also voluntarily surrendered to city police and
other authorities during the same period.
The BCPO conducted 254
operations during the 3-year span broken down as follows: 193 buy
bust operations; police 29 response; 18 service of search warrants and 14
service of warrants of arrest.

relations chief Supt. Armando Gapuz bared the report during a 2-day city anti-drug abuse
vouncil meeting and workshop to formulate its action plan for 2019 to
2021 headed by the Dept. of Interior and Local Government-Baguio office headed
by Evelyn Trinidad and the city’s special services division under Noel Mabutas.
Gapuz urged public’s
support and cooperation in ridding the city of illegal drugs saying this
destroys lives and future of people.
The CADAC is
chaired by the mayor and co-chaired by the BCPO director.
Members include heads
and representatives from various concerned government offices and agencies
including non-government organizations and the religious sector.
The council meets quarterly and aims to achieve
its goal of making Baguio a “drug-free”city with the support and cooperation of
local residents
