5 dead in N. Luzon motorbike mishaps

Five motorcycle riders died in road accidents in Abra, Pangasinan and
Ilocos Sur on Jan. 11.
Police said Franklin Castillo, 38, was driving his motorcycle with Kevin
Tuanquin, 16, when the vehicle rammed a road sign along the Abra-Kalinga road
in Barangay Gaddani, Tayum, Abra. The victims were declared dead on arrival in
a hospital.
Nelson Furio, 41, was riding a motorcycle driven by his son Jasper John,
21, when he lost control of the wheel when a stray dog crossed the street in
Barangay Calbueg, Malasiqui, Pangasinan. Furio was declared dead on arrival at
the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, where Jasper remains confined.
The motorcycle driven by Joseph Alvaro, 20, collided with a Toyota Hilux
driven by businessman Mark Angelo Magleo in Barangay Banaoang, Sta. Barbara
also in Pangasinan.
Another motorcycle driven by Venson Etrata rammed an electric post in
Barangay Sabuanan, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur. – Raymund Catindig Eva
