PAMPLONA, Cagayan -- A 2-km diversion road here was recently completed, the Dept. of Public Works and Highways announced.
The new Pamplona by-pass poad will serve as an alternate route for motorists to ease traffic flow within the national road, District Engineer Lorna Asuten said.
The two-kilometer road serves as a new road network traversing through the barangays of Gatu and Capalalian in Pamplona.
“The Pamplona By-pass Road reduces travel time, enhancing mobility and improving the productivity of our farmers,” Asuten said.
The new road was implemented with a P40-million fund under the General Appropriations Act of 2018.
According to Asuten, it will serve as a shortcut for the travelling public as heavy traffic often occurs along the National Road.
“It will also hasten the delivery of basic goods and services to the residents of Pamplona and to the nearby towns of Abulug and Sanchez Mira,” Asuten said.
The Pamplona Bypass Road will also help the local farmers for the faster and easier hauling of their crops since the new road network traverses through an agricultural land.
