49 persons arrested for violating poll liquor ban

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- A total of 49 persons were arrested for violation of election liquor ban which started 12 a.m. of May 12.
Of the 49 arrested persons, 47 were arrested in Baguio City while the other two were nabbed in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Arrested around 12 a.m. at Akira Bar along Magsaysay Road caught drinking liquor despite announcement of the liquor ban were: Marcia Padong, Jaisie Manongtong, Jessica Aspillaga, Gaudencio Lino, Arlyn L Casionan, Azer Fritzie C. Basilio, Jiselle Sixto, May Joy T. Edic, Jocelyn B. Olowan, Satelyn M. Lambino, Geneva B. Lacbao, Marciana P. Awis, Nita L. Lawingan, Carol L. Santos, Bert A. Eneci, Paul Brian C. Tango, Byron D. Chumacog, Raddy R. Antonio, Jhendol M. Changilan and Jayson W. Buyagao.
Also arrested were Napoleon T. Senovilla, Jason A. Lopez, Gerald C. Galiling, Jarren P. Gaddang, Dan T. Menzi, Brenda G. Ramos, Ronie T. Sianen, Edson on B. Kawi, Alexander O. Sumilao, Allen B. Refugia, Robert W. Salicon, Felix L. Pasino, Ruben W. Tabao-ican, Anexis P. Lensing and Jordan P. Gaddang,.
Also around 2:10 a.m. on May 12, personnel of Baguio City Police Office Tourist Police Unit and Women's and Children Protection Center arrested seven persons for violation of liqyor ban at Cabana Bar and Eatery along Otek St.
Nabbed were John Mike Soriano Bautista; Nick Baggao Calvero, Jaime Evangelista Pacheco Jr.,Richard Maliones Mendigorin, Gerald Pardito Tenaza, Francia Petrati Rivero and  Divina Sotelo Olanday.
Also around 11p.m. of May 12, police five persons for violation of liquor ban at Tapao West Quirino Hill.
Arrested were Jimmy Castillo Marianito, Gerwin Abuan Gonzales, Jun Osboken Lomsec, Clyton Esoen Dagoyan and Delbert Kis-Eng Laweng.  
In Bontoc, Mountain Province, police also arrested two persons at Bryan Lee’s Food House located at Kalang-ad Bldg., Pakkil, Caluttit for violation of liquor ban.
Nabbed while drinking liquor were Greg Batoto Catriz and Roldan Solliar Gandonez.

Man arrested in Kiangan for adultery

KIANGAN, Ifugao – Police arrested here Wednesday for adultery.
Nabbed by Kiangan, provincial police office and Baguio cops was Clyde Christian Dait at Sitio Pico, Tuplac.
This after warrant was issued against him by Judge Leody M. Opolinto of MTCC Branch 3, Baguio City. The judge set bail of P24, 000 for Dait’s temporary liberty.

Most wanted person in Kalinga captured

LUBUAGAN, Kalinga -- The top most wanted person in Kalinga identified as Leslie Alicog Pannogan alias “Tullangao” 47, single, small scale miner and resident of Middle Balatoc, Pasil town was arrested for murder here in Barangay Lower Uma on Tuesday. 
Pannogan was arrested by cops of Pasil and Lubuagan, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Force Mobile Company, Regional Intelligence Division, Kalinga CIDG-PFU, and Kalinga Highway Patrol Group.
Arrest warrant was earlier issued against Pannogan by Judge Marcelino K. Wacas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga,

DPWH employee robbed of P200-K gadgets, cash in Itogon

ITOGON, Benguet – A DPWH employee reported to police he was robbed of personal belongings worth around P200,000 like expensive gadgets by still unidentified persons at his boarding house in Slide, Tuding between May 13 to 14 .
The victim was identified as Kiethly K. Pio, 46, married.
Investigation disclosed thieves gained entry by destroying the padlock of the door and took away the following: 43-inch flat screen TV worth ₱15,000, Acer laptop worth ₱22,000, government-issued laptop worth ₱110,000, computer CPU worth ₱13,000, jewelry worth ₱8,000, Samsung tablet worth ₱5,000.00 and P1,000 cash.

 Man nabbed for estafa posts P500-K bail

BAGUIO CITY – A man was arrested for estafa here Wednesday but was released after he paid his bail bond of P500,000.
A police report said it was around 9 a.m. that day that they served warrant and arrested suspect Darwin Pascua Benemerito inside Justice Hall.
Judge Roberto R. Mabalot of MTCC Branch 1, Baguio City earlier issued warrant against Benemerito.

Man lands in Abra jail for violence

MANABO, Abra – Police nabbed a certain Jerome Reyes Divine here at Catacdegan Viejo after warrant was issued against him by Judge Elizabeth G. Bringas of RTC Branch 58, Bucay, Abra for violation of Republic Act 9262 (violence against women and children) with bail set at P80, 000.

 Widow cornered for faking documents

BAGUIO CITY – An unemployed widow was arrested here around 11 a.m. Wednesday inside Justice Hall for falsification of public documents.
Nabbed was Susan Paeng Sacuyan aka Clara Paeng Nevado, 65, resident here of Simsim Compound. This, after warrant was issued against here by Judge Roberto R. Mabalot of MTCC Branch 1, Baguio City.
Bail was set by the judge of P12,000 for her temporary liberty and another P12,000 for another case.

 Thieves steal valuables in bizwoman’s house

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Still unidentified thieves forcibly entered a house here at  JA 186-1, Upper Cogcoga, Pico around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday and carted away valuables worth around P11,500 which included a television set and gas tank.
The victim was identified as Emely Bantic Pudsoc, 32, businesswoman, single, of Guinsadan, Bauko, Mountain Province and a resident of place of incident.
According to the victim, her daughter locked their house before she left around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday and went to their stall in Hanger Market, Baguio City where they both slept that night. Around 11 a.m. the following day, they went home and discovered that the door of their house was open and their valuables stolen. The padlock of their house was found outside the house destroyed. No CCTV camera was installed at the crime scene.

 Korean nabbed for unjust vexation against Korean

BAGUIO CITY – A Korean national filed a complaint against his compatriot for unjust vexation which transpired around 9 a.m. on May 12 at Happy Evangelical Mission Church here in Campo Sioco, Ferdinand Barangay.
The complainant was identified as In-ae Hwang while the arrested suspect was named as Changkung Sung. The latter reportedly went to the place of incident holding a placard with hurtful and unsavory words written in Korean language.
These were later translated by Joseph Kim, vice president of United Korean Community Association in Northern Luzon, Philippines.

 Man arrested for guns, ammunition in Pinukpuk

PINUKPUK, Kalinga – A certain Ronnie Gongob Dangiwan, 36, married, farmer here of Barangay Wagud, was arrested by police for illegal guns and ammunition here Tuesday.
Judge Jerson E. Angog of RTC Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga issued bail bond of P100, 000 for Wagud’s temporary liberty.

 Man nabbed for entering  mayor’s poll headquarters

DANGLAS, Abra – Police arrested a certain Randel Valdez Balneg, 22 for allegedly illegally entering the campaign headquarters of Mayor Dennise Bragas at Barangay Cabaruan around 8 p.m. on May 12.
A police report said they received a call from Ronnel Bernal Buenaventura, staff of Bragas stating that a man illegally entered their headquarters. The suspect was brought to Danglas police station for questioning.

 Farmer arrested for shooting driver in Tabuk

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A farmer was arrested after shooting a tricycle driver and seriously injuring him here last week.  
A police report said the incident happened Tuesday around 8 p.m. in Sitio Banneng, Barangay Calaccad wherein the victim was identified as John Lastimosa Balanguio, 23, single.
He was allegedly shot by Dante Wanson Baggas, 48, married, farmer. Both were residents of said place.
The victim was brought by his relatives to Kalinga Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. Motive was not revealed in the police report.

Man cornered in Conner for rape

CONNER, Apayao – Police recently arrested here a certain Mark Dave Banayos, 25, single of Barangay Baduat, Kabugao Apayao for rape.
Banayos was nabbed at Sitio Turayoc, Buluan after warrant was issued against him by Judge Victor Gumigad of RTC Branch 26 Luna, Apayao with no bail recommended.

Electrician wanted for slay in Flora nabbed in Caloocan

FLORA, Apayao – An electrician wanted for murder in this town was tracked down by cops at his hideout in No. 168 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City recently.
Nabbed was Felizardo Mittay Batlong, 34, married, native 
of Barangay Poblacion West, Flora.
Judge Francisco Donato of RTC Branch 26 Luna, Apayao earlier issued warrant against the suspect in August 2, 2016 with no recommended bail bond.
Batlong was brought to Amma Jadsac District Hospital in  Pudtol, Apayao for medication and later incarcerated at the town police station.

Two men arrested for possession of chainsaws

BANGUED, Abra – Two men were arrested here recently for illegal possession of two chainsaws.
Nabbed were Avelino Acena Bandilas Jr, 24 and Mario Ducayag Malayan, 60 for having a chainsaw each.

 PNP revamps Abra town police, intel unit chiefs

BANGUED, Abra -- The Police Regional Office Cordillera has revamped the leadership of the town police here to dispel any suspicion of biases among personnel last May 13 elections.
 During the relaunch of the Abra Shield, PROCOR director, Brig. Gen. Israel Ephraim Dickson, said Maj. Dominador de Guzman was replaced by Maj. Daniel Bandoc as Bangued chief of police, while Lt. Col. Crisante Sadino was replaced by  Maj. Lory Parrazona as intelligence branch head.
De Guzman was recalled to the police regional office while Sadino was detailed at Mt. Province police provincial office. 
He said the 180th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), originally serving Abra province, was also relieved of its duty and replaced by the 1504th RMFB, originally based in Mt. Polis in Ifugao province.
It is therefore imperative that Abra Shield must again be raised against the remaining elements that propagate the bloody politics of the province," he said.
Abra Shield is a security plan conceptualized to serve as a "handbook" in handling the elections in the province.
Meanwhile, Dickson thanked the Philippine National Police for turning over five Mahindra Scorpio police patrol vehicles, and 16 XRM 125 Honda motorcycles for additional mobility for the PROCOR.
Aside from the vehicles, Abra police also received a repeater, a base radio, 10 mobile radios with a global positioning system, 60 handheld radios with GPS, a desktop computer, two high-frequency coded tactical packs for communication, and six drones. -- PNA
