Search on for top volunteers nationwide

BAGUIO CITY - The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency-Search for Outstanding Volunteers (PNVSCA-SOV) 2019 in the individual, organization and special local government unit category commences.
The notice came from National Economic and Development Authority Regional Director Milagros Rimando through a letter to outgoing Mayor Mauricio Domogan, last week.
The deadline for submission of entries is on July 5 at the City Hall Human Resources, and July 15 at the NEDA-CAR, Botanical garden, Leonard Wood road, Baguio City. Accomplished nomination forms may also be e-mailed to rpmescar@gmail.com.
Nominees may be “outstanding individuals and organizations who unselfishly offered their time, service and resources for the socio-economic and cultural development of our society,” or individuals within the local government units or any organization “who are passionate volunteers and have received awards or recognitions for their accomplishments,” Rimando stated in her letter.
For the individual category, the adult or youth nominee should be a Filipino citizen, with organization/institutional affiliation, and has served in a position for a definite period.
A volunteer story or significant accomplishment, with challenges faced in volunteerism should be shared. Objectives, beneficiaries, roles, partners, funding and resource mobilization are to be disclosed, including awards received.
The organization category nomination should mention if it is a foundation, non-government organization, employees association, or in any other category. Group information should be mentioned with a history, vision/mission and volunteering efforts done.
A special award for local government unit awaits outstanding volunteers who may be regular or contractual employees, or on a full time or periodic/part-time status. The number of legislative measures related to volunteerism, however should be enumerated for this nomination.
Nomination forms are available at the Public Information Office, City Mayors Office, and queries may be coursed through 074-424-1422 or at the PNVSCA website www.pnvsca.gov.ph. –
