Abra clerk of court, ex-AFP exec 5 nabbed for guns

BANGUED, Abra -- Seven
gun owners were arrested by police while several firearms and ammunition were
confiscated in this province recently.
Nabbed August
23 for illegal guns in their respective residences were Rogelio Bernales
Dumlao, 67, AFP retiree of Pilar town; Rodolfo Aban Dait Jr. 52, clerk of
court MCTC,also of Pilar and Giovanni Lorenzo Mendoza, 33, of Laang,
Langangilang town.
Confiscated
from them were Cal. 45 handgun, Ca. 38 revolver, seven magazines, 16 bullets,
front and rear sight assembly for M16 rifle, holster, among others.
Arrested
earlier on August 21 were Ruben R. Ariota, Romar S. Franco, 48, teacher;
Juliemar B. Ariota, 34, farmer, of Barangay Talogtog, Dolores town and
Alvin Barbosa Timbreza were all nabbed at Supiil, San Juan town
while Artemio Blanza Ballera, 42, farmer was arrested at
Saccaang, Sallapadan.
Seized from
them were two Cal. 45 pistols, shot gun; Cal. 22; three magazine assembly for
Cal. 45 and 65 bullets for Cal. 45; two bullets for shot gun, two Cal. 22
buillets and a holster.
All were
charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms
and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013
Meanwhile,
13 assorted firearms and one hand grenade were surrendered in other parts of
the Cordillera by concerned citizens.
Regional
police director Brig. Gen. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson lauded arresting officers
for successful implementation of search warrants.
