Kalinga SP accredits 26 civil society groups

CITY
OF TABUK, Kalinga -- The Sangguniang Panlalawigan here approved the
accreditation of 26 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) giving them legal entity
to partner with government on development tasks and opportunity to become
member of local mandated councils.
Vice Gov. Dave Odiem
said the provincial government needs representatives from CSOs in local
mandated councils like the Local Health and School Board, Provincial
Development Council and other special bodies.
He said even cooperatives have to seek recognition since they are the usual repository or beneficiaries of assistance from government agencies particularly financial and credit assistance, and agricultural production support.

Requirements for
accreditation include duly accomplished application for accreditation;
board resolution; certificate of registration; list of current officers and
members; original sworn statement issued by the Chief Executive Officer or
equivalent officer of the CSO, stating that the CSO is an independent,
non-partisan organization and that it will retain its autonomy while pursuing
the advancement of the people’s interest through its membership in a local
special body.
Others are annual
accomplishment report; financial statement, profile indicating the purpose and
objectives of the organization, copy of minutes of meetings; and photocopy of
profiles of at least three individuals in the organization that will verify
their involvement in education or health services for those CSOs applying to be
