DOH: 12 cleared in Cordi out of 24 for Covid-19 virus

BAGUIO CITY – Regional Health officials bared 21 persons underwent monitoring in the region if they were infected with the COVID-19 virus with 12 of them cleared.

As of Feb. 12 afternoon, ten people were still admitted in Cordillera health facilities while eight others have been discharged and cleared of the deadly disease.
Dept. of Health Cordillera Regional Director Amelita Pangilinan bared this saying six other persons were placed under investigation.
In Baguio City, a woman and her 10-month-old baby who arrived from Austria via Hong Kong, were among 14 PUIs in the Cordilleras.
Pangilinan said five PUIs were discharged from a hospital on Tuesday.
Nine persons under investigation (PUIs) – three each from Abra and Baguio, two from Benguet and one from Mountain Province  were reported earlier as confined in various hospitals.
The Cordillera Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, she added, had been working 24/7 in monitoring persons who could be placed under investigation for nCoV infection in the region.
She said three persons were placed under investigation (PUIs) in Benguet, two in Mt. Province, and one each in Baguio and Abra.
The youngest was two years old while the oldest was 57.
Pangilinan said four were declared negative of any nCoV infection, while the remaining three are still being monitored.
The PUIs have travel history to Hong Kong. All test results came from the Research institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
She said persons who were subjected to investigation and monitoring showed symptoms like coughs, colds, sore throats, fever among others. Pangilinan said PUMs are those who had close contacts with PUIs.
She said all the persons cleared were sent home as they were in stable condition.
She said that they are coordinating with municipal and barangay health workers in places of PUIs and PUMs.
The DOH Cordillera is conducting daily media briefing to check unverified news and public panic.
“We will come out with the latest update as soon as data are available,” Pangilinan said.
Jennifer Joyce Pira, Dept. of Health-Cordillera medical officer, earlier said three persons under investigation (PUIs) in the region recovered and were set to be discharged from the Baguio General Hospital. 
Officials have yet to determine the status of the fourth PUI confined at the Benguet General Hospital.
The DOH-CAR listed two PUIs in Benguet and one each in Baguio City and Mountain Province.
There are three PUIs in Abra, the provincial health office reported.
On Monday, the DOH warned the public against organizing or going to events that draw several people.
For its part the tourism sector led by The Department of Tourism and Tourism Congress of the Philippines, assured the public, especially foreign and domestic tourists, that “the Philippines remains a vast, diverse and most importantly safe destination for travel.”
The DOT earlier released earlier released guidelines on handling guests in tourism enterprises.
“The safety of the public, especially our tourists and employees in the tourism sector, remains the priority of DOT and TCP,” they said on Monday.
