Cops arrest 7 men in Cordillera drug ops

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested seven persons for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act  in the Cordillera recently.
            A drug suspect identified as Jejomar Sumang Sumo, farmer, was arrested at Viloria Street, Purok 4. Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga on March 11 during implementation of search warrant.
Found in his possession were suspected marijuana leaves and stalks worth P14,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Eduardo Oyando aka Edward Valdez, 29, was apprehended March 13 in Purok 4 also in Bulanao.
Confiscated from him was a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and buy-bust money.
Five persons allegedly also involved in drugs were also separately arrested by police.
 Suspect Thawadi Sameh Jr Ruiz, 31, of Dappig Purok 5, San Agustin, Isabela was arrested at Yakal Street, Poblacion North, Lagawe, Ifugao on March 11 while Bill Udquin Galvin was nabbed in Purok 4, Better Living, Crystal Dale, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City  on March 12.
Confiscated from Ruiz were P100,000 and 80 grams of suspected shabu while one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and two cellphones were seized from Galvin.
Other arrested individuals were Whesly Dulawan Tobiagon, who was cornered in Guinaoang, Mankayan, Benguet, Ruben Abad Bergano, who was apprehended in Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet while Jessie Marcos Paleyan, was caught in Upper Abatan, Buguias, Benguet.
Paleyan yielded two sachets containing suspected shabu and buy-bust money.
Confiscated from Tobiagon were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, P1,000 buy-bust money and a Mitsubishi Delica van with plate number ZFD-903.
This, as two sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money and one cell phone were seized from Bergano.
The seven suspects are now facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
