LINGAYEN , Pangasinan – Gov. Amado I. Espino III has urged Pangasinenses to strictly observe the health protocols under the prevailing General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the province, saying that “we are still fighting COVID-19.”
He said Pangasinenses should still practice the prescribed protocols under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period despite the easing up of restrictions under GCQ.
He urged all Pangasinenses to cooperate with the directives of the LGUs while a vaccine and a cure for COVID-19 are not yet available.
He said efforts of Pangasinenses in following the protocols have resulted in the slow increase of confirmed cases in the province.
The provincial government is also conducting mass testing which prioritizes medical frontliners, law enforcers, Persons Under Investigation (PUIs), and high-risk Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) in the province.
The second batch of mass testing started May 20, in San Carlos City, with 160 specimens collected.
The provincial government assured that it has enough resources to meet the basic needs of the people during the pandemic.
