16 nabbed for cockfighting In Bangued

BANGUED, Abra --Sixteen persons were arrested here for illegal gambling first day of August.

Police nabbed suspects while in an illegal cockfighting event here in Barangay Bangbangar.

Arrested were: Arsenio Bersamin Bringas Jr.; Jimmy Baldez Tecson, Sosimo Gandeza Brioso, Jeffrey John Marcelo Reyes, Jewison Pacis, Eliezer Velasco Casel, Dionisio Racelis Barcena, Patrick John Pizarro Valera, John Bringas Casel, LM Agarin Pascioles, Dander Lord Bayle Babida, Rex Dela Cruz Jaquias, Orlino Bataller Acena, Ralph Pascioles; Mansueto Pascioles and Sandy Lauretanaue.

Confiscated from them were five dead fighting cocks, two live fighting cocks; box containing gaffs, folding cage; three chicken boxes, two medicine boxes and limber cage.

Prior to this, cops arrested 28 persons in the region July and confiscated P13,000 worth of gambling bets.

This is the result of several police anti-illegal gambling operations  including the filing of 7 cases in various courts.

Said arrested persons were engaged in various illegal gambling activities such as jueteng, cockfighting, and illegal number games.
