Covid-19 cases reach 3,462 in Cordillera

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Covid-19 cases in the Cordillera increased with 3,462 confirmed cases in the region.
    The regional Dept. of Health bared this saying of the confirmed cases as of Oct. 28, a total of 1,116 were active, 2, 305 recovered while 41 died.
    There 111 new infections recorded earlier on Oct. 26. 
    The regional Dept. of Health said 80 of the new patients were from Benguet, mostly from the mining towns of Itogon and Tuba.
    Kabayan town, which had been Covid-19 free, recorded two new cases – a 24-year-old male security guard, and a 26-year-old from Poblacion, Kabayan.
    Itogon had the highest number of confirmed cases with 151, followed by Tuba with 119 and La Trinidad with 103.
    Buguias town had 20 registered cases, nine in Sablan, 12 in Mankayan, eight in Tublay, three in Kapangan, two in         Bokod and one each from Atok and Bakun.
    There were also two fatalities recorded on Monday, a 65-year-old male from Abra, and a 35-year-old male from Benguet.
    There were 78 recoveries in the region with 48 in Benguet; 22 in Baguio City, five in Kalinga, two in Mt. Province, and one in Apayao.
    Baguio City had most number of active cases with 573, followed by Benguet with 455, Ifugao,15; Kalinga,15; Abra, 9; Mt. Province, 3; and Apayao, 2.
    As of 5:30 p.m., October 26, the Cordillera region has a total of 3,335 confirmed cases, 1,071 active, 2,225 recoveries and 39 deaths.
