2 held in Tuba for selling shabu to cop

TUBA, Benguet – Two persons were arrested here June 15 in a buy-bust operation at Kadmangan, Poblacion by police and anti-narcotics agents and are now facing charges for illegal drugs.
    Regional police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee identified the arrested suspects as Alma Lazarte Devilles, 45 and Teofilo Bautista Cariño, 50.
    Lee said Devilles allegedly sold two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 4.87 grams worth P33,116 to an undercover operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
    Another three sachets of suspected shabu worth P26,316 was reportedly seized from Cariño.
    Other confiscated items from suspect Devilles were buy-bust money,   touchscreen cellphone and three lighters while taken from Carino were three lighters, blade, a scissors, seven foils, earrings and medical certificate.  
    Inventory of seized items were done in the presence of barangay captain Oliver K Paus, kagawad Mely C Saingan, and media representative Kerby Rillera.
    Arrested suspects and confiscated items were brought to Tuba Municipal Police Station for disposition.

2 plantations raided; P342-M MJ burned

KIBUNGAN, Benguet -- Marijuana plants and seedlings worth P342,000 were destroyed in separate raids here on June 13.
    Personnel of the Benguet police and the Cordillera regional police torched the marijuana discovered in Sitio Bakbakan,     Barangay Poblacion and in Sitio Caang in Barangay Badeo, according to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee.
    The plantation in Barangay Poblacion had 50 marijuana plants and 300 seedlings valued at P22,000.
    The 1,600 fully grown marijuana plants discovered in Barangay Badeo had an estimated value of P320,000.
    Lee described the location of the plantations as “very difficult to reach, very steep and took four hours to reach.”
    “One would not suspect that marijuana plantations exist in these areas,” Lee said.
Marijuana plants worthP28.5 million were recently destroyed in five plantations in Tinglayan, Kalinga, also located in the Cordillera.
No one was arrested in the raids.            

 

2 nabbed for P34-K shabu in Ifugao, Abra; man sells to Baguio cop


CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Police arrested three persons and seized a total of P34,000 worth of suspected shabu in buy-bust operations in Ifugao, Abra and Baguio City last week. 
Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee bared this identifying suspects as Limbert Martin Mallari, 42, businessman, of Santa Maria, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, and Odelle Balmaceda, 37, of Calumbaya, Dolores, Abra. Both were arrested June 11.
    In Ifugao, suspect Mallari was arrested after he reportedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P2,040 to a lawman.
Polcie confiscated from him suspected shabu worth P27,200, drug paraphernalia Toyota Fortuner vehicle and cellphone used in the transaction.
Mallari has been reportedly monitored for alleged drug peddling, taking supplies from Manila and Santiago City, Isabela.
He is now under the custody of Alfonso Lista police.
Meanwhile, Balmaceda was arrested after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P6,800 to a cop in Tawali, Calumbaya, Dolores, Abra.
Also, seized from him we4re were the buy-bust money and Suzuki motorcycle.
Both are now facing charges for illegal drugs.
In Baguio City, a 21-year-old online seller was nabbed after he sold methamphetamine (shabu) weighing about 0.5 gram worth of P3,400 to an undercover cop along Lower Magsaysay Ave. on June 14.
The arrested suspect was identified as Judimel Rodriguez Ferrer, of Lourdes Extension, Baguio City.
Ferrer was arrested by elements of local cops and anti-narcotics agents.
Seized from the suspect were the buy-bust money and cell phone, which were inventoried at the site in the presence of Kagawad Precious Amagen of Lower Magsaysay and prosecutor Don Immanuel Vergara.
The drugs were turned over to Baguio City Crime Laboratory Office where examination bared the drugs were indeed shabu.
Also, the drug test conducted on the suspect reportedly turned out positive, which indicated illegal drug use.
Ferror was charged for illegal drugs.
