Missing goat leads to farmer’s slay in Abra
BUCAY, Abra -- A man shot and
killed his neighbor because of a missing goat in Sitio Baleg, Barangay Calao here
on Monday.The victim was identified as Alexander Tejero Molina, 42, married, farmer and resident at said place.
The suspect is his neighbor identified as Bobby Baro Baro alias "Bobot".
Based on the initial investigation by the Bucay Municipal Police, the suspect went to the house of Molina early morning on Monday.
Bobot claimed his goat was missing and blamed the farmer's dog for it.
The two got into a heated argument.
During a verbal tussle, Bobby shot Molina in the back.
Police said the slug entered the victim's upper right back and exited on his left chest.
He was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Scene of the crime operatives recovered two deformed pellets and one fired spent shell of a 12-gauge shotgun.
The suspect fled but was later apprehended by the police.
Woman nabbed for shabu; brod for intimidating cops
BANGUED, Abra -- A woman is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002, while his brother was charged for obstruction of justice and direct assault with the use of fire arms after a buy-bust operation here evening of July 8 at Barangay Santa Rosa.
Provincial police director Col. Christopher T. Acop identified the suspects as Aiza Acena Bandilas, 32 and Avelino Acena Bandilas Jr, 27, security guard.
Acop said Aiza sold suspected shabu worth P1,000 to a cop.
An added P3,400 worth of shabu and cell phone were confiscated from her.
During the buy-bust operation, Avelino reportedly attempted to stop the arrest by intimidating one of the cops.
Avelino reportedly attempted to pull an object from his bag, but was stopped by the cops who found a Cal. 38 revolver loaded with five bullets in it.
Inventory of the seized items was conducted in the presence of by village chief Joselito Adame; Edgar Tanura, media representative and Marisol Timbreza of the DOJ.
Both suspects and pieces of evidence were brought to Bangued police station where cases were prepared against them.
Elderly dies in Pangasinan vehicle crash

ROSALES, Philippines — A 74-year-old woman died after she was hit by a motorcycle here Tuesday.
Germinigilda Guerson died while undergoing treatment at the Dr. Chan Hospital.
Driver Anthony Jerick Dale Ramolete, 29, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital for treatment.
He was later brought to the police station for questioning.
Investigation showed that Guerson was crossing the highway in Barangay San Pedro West when she figured in the accident.

Trinidad, Benguet – Thousands of pesos worth of marijuana plants were destroyed
in Benguet and Kalinga recently, Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald
O. Lee revealed.In Kalinga, P28 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants was reportedly burned in Tinglayan town, the regional police information office said.
Provincial police office was still establishing clues about unidentified persons, who fired at the lawmen during the operation.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The marijuana eradication was conducted by members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, the Kalinga Provincial Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency -Kalinga.
The marijuana plantation reportedly had an area of 5,500 square meters in Barangay Loccong.
This, as a total P640,000 worth of marijuana plants was uprooted and burned at a forest at Sitio Payakpakan, Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet on July 1.
Reports
submitted to the regional police director Brig., Gen. Ronald O. Lee said police
discovered 3,200 fully grown marijuana plants in the area.
In another
operation, police uprooted and burned another P166,000 worth of marijuana
plants in Sitio Balaan, Poblacion, Kibungan
on July 9.
Using a drone
to locate and scour the area, 750 fully grown marijuana plants and 400
marijuana seedlings worthP166,000 were discovered by police in the area.
Six nabbed for selling ‘shabu’ to Cordi cops

Trinidad, Benguet – Police nabbed drug personalities in buy-bust operations in
Cordillera recently.
In Kalinga and Benguet, four suspects identified as Bernard B. Bernal, 32; Honorato Palaganas Rodrigo, 18; Marvin Arteta Debulos, 36 and Joven Viridiano Roy, 28 were arrested July 10.
Bernal was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected "shabu" worth of P952 to lawmen in Benguet.
Palaganas was nabbed after he sold "shabu" worth P2,516 to a police officer on July 10.
In Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga, Debulos and Roy were nabbed after they sold two sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,760 to a cop.
In Baguio City, also arrested for illegal drugs were May Levyca Cadiz Claro a.k.a Levy, 43; Erwin Arga Reyes, 36 and Mona Liza Cabusora Ofecio,37.
In Abra, a certain 'Levy' was arrested after selling shabu worth P7,000 to a cop.
Seized from Claro was suspected shabu worth P6,800 and cell phone.
Meanwhile, in Baguio City, Reyes was arrested after selling shabu worth P7,500 to an undercover cop.
Also, in another buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City, police arrested Ofecio after she sold shabu worth P2,000 also to a cop.
Still in Baguio, police arrested Cristel Joyce Rivera, 25, jobless, resident of Outlook Drive on July 9.
Rivera was nabbed after selling P5,440 worth of shabu to a cop acting as buyer.
Another three sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,440 and cellphone were confiscated from her.
Inventory of seized items was done in the presence of DOJ representative prosecutor Oliver Isabelo D. Prodencio, barangay kagawad Onn M Aquino of Outlook Drive, Baguio City and Charles Nikko Limon of RNG Luzon, media representative.
