PopCom gives P300-K to MP for programs

BONTOC, Mountain Province -- The provincial government through Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. and Commission on Population and Development Cordillera represented by regional director Magdalena G. Abellera inked a memorandum of agreement for POPCOM programs in the province recently.
The collaboration aims to improve policies and programs to ensure access to responsible parenthood and family planning information and services especially among marginalized sectors.
It aims to boost implementation of PopCom pprograms like responsible parenthood and family planning, adolescent health and development and population and development integration.
An amount of P300, 000 has been downloaded to the provincial government for the POPCOM programs.
Per MOA, the amount shall be used for activities and unmet needs, boosting work of local responsible parenthood and reproductive health implementation teams.
The fund will also be used for the 100 millionth baby celebration; support for teen mothers, fathers and children and conduct of POPDEV-related activities.
The MOA signing was witnessed by Vice Gov. and Sangguniang Panlalawigan chair Francis O. Tauli, board members Joshua B. Fronda, Randolph T. Awisan, Janice L. Barillo, Henry D. Bastian, Jr., Tomas B. Tawagen, Alexandre C. Claver, Federico E. Onsat, Jazzel-Mae P. Masidong and Salvador K. Dalang, population program officer Shirley A. Chiyawan, PPO Eunice G. Andaya and Elsie E. Tudlong of Provincial Population Development Office.
