Cash grants for poor families 7 years: DSWD

BONTOC, Mountain Province – Conditional cash grants are given to poor households for a maximum of seven years to improve health and nutrition and school participation of the children. 
Helen P. Manongyao of provincial Dept. Of Social Welfare and Development bared this saying this is stipulated under Republic Act 11310 or  An Act Institutionalizing the 4Ps program as  national poverty reduction strategy.
    Manongyao bared this during the 4Ps Provincial Advisory Council meeting to discuss updates on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and other DSWD programs.
    She presented the Kilos Unlad Roadmap of DSWD to make 4Ps households  escape poverty.
    The Kilos Unlad is a modular social case management strategy to guide 4Ps households to improve their lives.
It employs participatory approach and individual, family and community cooperation to build their capacities and skills to help them step out of poverty.
 The full operationalization of the7-year modular framework that will involve convergence of programs and services of various government agencies and partner stakeholders will begin next year.
By 2028, and ultimate target of the program is that current beneficiaries will  exit from the 4Ps with improved lives and out of poverty, Manongyao said.
The province recently logged a total of 5,395 4Ps household beneficiaries.
Also discussed during the meeting were the accomplishment and updates on other DSWD programs such programs on sustainable livelihood, social pension, supplementary feeding among others. -- PIA Mountain Province
