CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Philippine National Police chief Gen. Gullermo Lorenzo Eleazar hailed the compliance of the personnel of the Police Regional Office in the Cordillera for their adherence to his intensified cleanliness program in terms of good behavior and integrity.
Eleazar was the guest of honor and speaker during the celebration of the 120th Police Service anniversary at Camp Dangwa, the regional headquarters of PRO-Cor, on Monday.
He expressed admiration to the police personnel, who continue to carry on the integrity of the PNP and who are mandated to promote discipline and order.
The PNP chief also extended his admiration to the members of the police force, who selflessly carry out their duties and responsibilities and even choose to extend their services when off-duty.
Eleazar has been an advocate of internal "cleansing" among police ranks.
He cited importance of discipline and professionalism in the police force in order to battle the bad reputation, created by police scalawags in the past.
He said this was very important in earning the trust and confidence of citizens. He added that this would further strengthen the police organization.
For the past two days, the PNP chief had been in Baguio City and the nearby towns of La Trinidad, Tuba, Itogon, Sablan and     Tublay to conduct surprise inspections and ascertain adherence of the local police force to the intensified cleanliness program because cleanliness was next to godliness.
Eleazar will be visiting other provinces of the Cordillera in the coming days to personally conduct inspections.
