LA TRINIDAD,
Benguet The provincial government will be putting up two more isolation
centers worth more than P38 million in strategic areas to provide additional beds
for isolation requirements of suspected and probable Covid-19 cases from
various places.
Gov. Melchor Diclas led local officials and health authorities in the ground-breaking ceremony of the P28.5-million isolation center within the premises of the Northern Benguet District Hospital and the P10-million center in Kapangan town.
He said the isolation facilities will ensure the availability of isolation beds for suspected and probable Covid-19 patients in order that they will not have to be transported to the Benguet General Hospital.
The governor cited need for confirmed Covid-19 patients to undergo the required facility-based isolation in order that they will not infect their immediate families and other relatives.
The two isolation centers that are undergoing construction will be added to the isolation facilities built in Tublay and Itogon towns through funds from the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The isolation center in the Northern Benguet District Hospital is part of its expansion in order for it to be upgraded to a Level 2 hospital.
Diclas told residents to continue complying with prescribed minimum public-health standards because of the emerging threat from the Delta variant of the deadly virus.
