BONTOC, Mountain Province - The Bontoc local government cited an employee for public service and the village she handled for commitment in paying taxes.
Revenue Collection Clerk III Mary Juvy Tudlong from the Office of the Municipal Treasurer was accorded a plaque of appreciation for her commitment and dedication in the 100% collection of delinquent taxes in the previous years and Real Property Tax (RPT) for the current year in Barangay Caneo.
Tudlong is focal person in charge of collection of RPT in Caneo.
Caneo received a plaque of appreciation from the Bontoc LGU in recognition of the cooperation and participation of the barangay officials and the community in the attainment of 100% RPT collection in the village.
For the past years, the Bontoc LGU through the Office of the Municipal Treasurer intensified tax information education and communication campaign to enhance revenue generation capacity of the capital town and barangays to create better awareness on benefits of RPT collection for the local community.
Mayor Odsey thanked awardees saying taxation is lifeblood of the government.
“Whatever amount collected, no matter how small, will provide additional revenue not just for the barangays but also for the municipality. The taxes collected go back to the community in the form of government services, programs and projects,” the mayor added.
Human resource management officer Arleen Eickmee Gasmena joined Mayor Odsey in lauding the awardees adding the recognition of Tudlong will inspire employees of the Bontoc LGU to realize their potentials and give their best in the workplace.
Mayor Odsey and municipal treasurer Lourdes Austria handed over the plaques of recognition to awardees.
For Barangay Caneo, it was received by punong barangay Edward Ochasan during the program in celebration of the 113th Bontoc founding anniversary and 17th Am-among on Sept. 16, at Bontoc municipal capitol grounds.
