 5 held for shabu in Tabuk,Baguio City, La Trinidad 

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police arrested five persons for illegal drugs in Cordillera last week, Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald O. Lee bared.
    Arrested in Baguio City Oct. 7 were Leo Bautista Ateneo, 33; Ghary Jhun Wakit Garcia aka “Garay”, 44; Rosendyl Batac Lacsa, 25 and Denio Sangdaan Gaayon, 35.
    In Bokawkan Road, Ateneo was nabbed after he sold a sachet containing suspected shabu valued at P 6,500 to a cop.
Another gram worth P6,800 was confiscated from him.
    Garcia was also nabbed at Gibraltar, Baguio after he sold also a gram of shabu worth P6,800.
In Tabuk City, Kalinga, two suspects identified only as Lacsa and Gaayon were apprehended for allegedly selling and transporting dangerous drugs at Purok 6, Bulanao Centro.
Confiscated from them was shabu worth P3,400.
    In La Trinidad, Benguet, a buy-bust operation in Barangay Shilan, Oct. 11 resulted in the arrest of Keenar Sukil-up Dapdapog, 29, of Ampusongan, Bakun, Benguet and at present residing at Buyagan, La Trinidad.
    Dapdapog was arrested for allegedly selling to a cop a gram of shabu worth P6,800.00.
    Markings and inventory of the pieces of evidence were done on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by kagawad Willer Ciano of Shilan and Denver Bastingo, media representative.
    All suspects are now facing charges for illegal drugs.

Man held for dating minor; P200-K bail set

ASINGAN, Pangasinan – Authorities served a warrant of arrest against the most wanted person in this town last week for alleged child abuse.
    In an interview, Asingan town police deputy chief Lt. Elmer Tangalin identified the suspect as Diether Soria, 21, of Barangay Bantog here.
    “He was arrested on Sept. 21 due to alleged child abuse for dating a minor.
    The case was two counts and the second warrant of arrest was issued on July 14, 2021 by Hon. Edwin B Maynigo, assisting Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 49 in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan was served to him Oct. 5,” he said.
    Tangalin said the suspect remained in custodial facility of the police station due to his inability to pay for bail amounting to P200,000 for each of the two cases.


Surveyor nabbed in Bangued, Abra for gun, bullets


BANGUED, Abra — A private surveyor was nabbed here Oct. 9 for having in his possession an illegal gun.
    A regional police report named the suspect as Edward Benedick Carayoan Espiritu, 35 of Tanobong, San Isidro town.
    The report said a concerned citizen sought police assistance due to a commotion at Santiago Street, Zone 5 in Bangued. 
    Responding cops saw a firearm tucked on the suspect’s back and arrested him.
    Confiscated from Espirito was a Cal. 22 revolver loaded with four bullets. Found at the area was a fired cartridge case for same caliber.
    The suspect was brought to Abra Provincial Hospital for medico legal examination and later to Bangued MPS where a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, was filed against him.
 

Policeman killed in N. Vizcaya PNP barracks

DUPAX DEL SUR, Nueva Vizcaya — A policeman was killed in an accidental-shooting incident inside the compound of the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company Headquarters here morning of Oct. 10.
    According to a police report, the shooting incident, through accidental firing, took place while the suspect and the victim were inside their barracks.
    Police chief MSg. William Giron 2nd identified the victim as Pat. James Canceran, 32, married and a resident of Santa Maria town in Isabela province while the suspect was identified as Pat. Joshua Cebo, 24, single and a resident of Tumauini, Isabela.
    Giron, the investigator on the case, stated in his report that Canceran was preparing for his 8 a.m. duty as a building guard while Cebo was sitting on his bed when the incident happened.
    The report also said Cebo took his issued firearm, a 9 mm Canik, from his bag and accidentally squeezed the trigger. As a result, his firearm discharged a single shot and hit Canceran in his left abdominal region.
    Canceran was rushed to the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
    Police said Cebo was now under the custody of this town’s police station, awaiting the conclusion of the investigation.

    The police added that Cebo may be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
